HS FED rules: 10-3-7f (Player technical for unsporting conduct). Also 2004-05 POE #4. Specific unsporting acts. (B.) "Flopping" .....'a technical foul is charged to the "actor" in all cases.

Do not have an up to date official's handbook to know if it is still in there.

Thanks for the info. I would have never guessed flopping was a T.
I believe charge/ block call is the hardest in the game. No doubt.

What's up with HCV? Only from reading the forum they seem to have struggled this year. Kind of interesting they're ranked #10, but they beat #7, #8, and #9.

Not sure but boy did Ada-Borup drub them last week; 33 point loss I believe. I know A-B is ranked high in MN but I really thought that was going to be a lot closer.

I know its just a poll, but Rugby ahead of FW/M when FW/M appears to have had more 1st place votes? I am not sure on how the vote works or if you get points based on position, but if thats the case, whoever voted FW/M first had likely Rugby 2nd. So either some who put Rugby first, didn't have FW/M 2nd??? or the one voter for the dang Woodchucks had Rugby 2 and FW/M 3??/Would that be enough to change it??

IMHO FW/M stays one Rugby two...after tonight.s game, next week can adjust depending on outcome...

And the 7, 8,9, 10 thing is a bit off too....

They've been playing very well. East Grand Forks was undefeated and AB crushed them too.

MN Ref's let them play and the ND teams are not used to that physical of Play. HCV did not get the calls they do in ND. HCV is very good at drawing contact on drives and getting to the line. Also AB is a beast of a team.

Remember Polls are only good for us to talk and complain about.... The kids will decide who makes it to the tournament and then you never know.
I don't really like teams that have not played anybody all year being rated.

I don't put much weight into the first 4 games of the year. Teams are learning to play together during that time.... so the last 16 games of the year really tell me something about a program.

Were they actually MN officials? it wouldn't be unusual for them to have officials from Fargo.

Should be a good game on Feb. 22 between Shiloh Christian & Four Winds-Minnewaukan. I heard its always a good game when these two play.

It doesn’t matter where the officials are from. Many ref games in both states. And the same ref will call games completely different depending on which state they are in. I’ve been told by refs, “you’re not in North Dakota anymore”.

Too much Bronson Walter, good outside shooting when the D collapsed...Fw/m long, athletic and quick defensively. Rugby shot good first quarter and stayed with them, went cold and turned ball over in 2nd and could never get back in the game.

Not a lot of teams can defend Rugby..This one can

I dont understand how Four Winds gets beat by one, banking in of a free throw with 0.8 seconds left, to a good squad/program and they get dropped to #2 and Rugby gets beat by 2 to a good squad/program as well and they stayed at #2. Then Rugby is promoted to #1 when Four Winds lost that tough well fought game this past Saturday against Thompson, aka defending State Champs. Rugby has a softer schedule than any other of those teams in the top ten poll this week, except for two teams. (http://www.classbbasketball.com good source for overall numbers in many different categories.) Polls don't mean a whole lot and just let em play and that will take care of itself.

I think Craig does a nice job with that site. Looking at the difference between boys and girls on that site, in girls the top 10 teams in the AP poll are also the top 10 in Craig's ratings and top 11 in the RPI. In boys that is not the case. The conclusion I draw from that is that it is likely that there are some teams in the top 10 of the poll in boys that may be overrated and are ripe for the picking so to speak. Sorting by strength of schedule is also a neat feature. Makes you appreciate what 4-Winds has done this year.

Even though the polls and ranking schemes don't really matter, they are nonetheless somewhat confusing. I tend to think that point spreads probably aren't that relevant, particularly in cases where one team establishes a huge lead and the subs come off the bench for a quite a bit of the game and the lead is cut significantly but the outcome was never in doubt.

Region 6 seems to be having one of those down seasons across the whole region...usually District 12 has some quality teams but this season feels like it’s Rugby and then ‘10 miles away’ is the rest of the region; that’s not usually the case. Every system has its flaws for rankings...but I do feel that those were the top 2 teams in Class B last night...FWM was the better team last night

FWM was A LOT better. Rugby has 1.5 quality wins all year IMO, might be they're more of a 8-9 team instead of a 1-2 team. We will find out because there is zero chance they dont make it to state.

I would say they have more than 1.5 quality wins. Dunseith, New Rockford and Beaulah are all good teams and SC on the road by 2 is nothing to hang ur head about. Their region behind down doesn’t help.

i missed the dunseith win, so ill go 2.5.

this still feels like a top 10 win-loss record/team. Not top 2. They got dismantled in a packed home gym. Maybe just what the doctor ordered.

The Dunseith win is the fourth best win on that list.
