After watching Enderlin and Kindred play it appears to me that the shorter Hurlburt is a better player than the taller one. Keller is hands down the best big man in Region 1. Kraft has a gold mine with his roster and it appears he is wasting it away. 6'-10" and 6'-8" on the same roster with kids that can play as sophomores in Class B is treasure trove. To each their own...

Is Kraft's team 18-2?

I struggle to agree with the notion that a coach who has a .900 winning percentage on a team with underclassmen leaders is wasting the talent away.

Keller hands down the best big in the region, agree to disagree. I would take Swenson, the "shorter" Hurlburt and Jensen over Keller, Dixon is also very good. R1 if full of good bigs.

I'm saying he could be doing more with what he has. Yes 18-2 is good. Its the undisciplined ball play that happens where it is tough to watch with the talent he has.

Is it undisciplined play or is it a style of play that you do not agree with? There are several ways to coach size.

Swenson is dang good to. OG will make some noise in the tournament. I would not want to face them. Very well coached and disciplined. Card gets the boys ramped up every year in March. Region 1 will be a fun tournament.

A little bit of both. To many turnovers first off and when the tallest kid on the court is fumbling the ball between his legs last night and shooting unorthodox style 3 point point shots it would be imho to clean that up a bit.

The game has changed and "a fan" has no say as to where a Player should be playing
I know people who have called "the School" to ask why some one 6'5" is shooting 3 pointers

you can't have 45 points in 32 minutes if you don't hit a few threes and post up a few times
its called inside/outside, uptown/downtown :)
If you can’t excel with talent, triumph with effort.

I do not think it is a terrible thing to do various things to get the ball in the hands of your best player in multiple areas of the court. To each their own.

Just cause a team doesn't play your style of basketball does not mean that it is the wrong style of basketball. If they are winning games then they must be doing something right.

Absolutely not a bad thing at all. But when the shots aint falling from deep maybe move a little closer to the hoop to get one to drop, gain some confidence, then move out towards the perimeter. They are 18-2. I guess at this stage of the year keep on doing what got you that record, hard to argue that.

Great Game and the Ref's let them play. I love it. Kindred went on a long dry streak and let Enderlin back in the game. I think Kindred kids got really tired. With Injuries and sick kids which should be health next week.
No Dunks but not for lack of trying. Both teams have some kids that can fly. Paul Olson's block/foul on Hurlburt was unreal. I think he might of hit is elbow on the rim.
I agree that I don't know how anyone would stop their size if they were never 6 feet from the basket but that is not how they play.
Keller was the best big man on the court last night. He owned the paint and hit many big shots ( from the outside LOL) and grabbed plenty of tough boards. I agree he is the best big in the Region.

Sound be a great region!

Or the next level for these kids...every year we talk about the next D1 player from class B. Plenty of kids that have the skill...very, very few that have the size.

Size wins out on prospects...I can't be the only one who watched NDSU/SDSU last night. anybody 6'7" or up are asked to do a lot of things all over the court...

Ok. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOweaKjN2dk

Go to 4.25 left in the 4th and tell me the block was a foul. If you watch any part of this game... that was never a foul the whole game. Sorry but that was getting up for a 10th grader at 6'2

Cant really tell much from the angle...lol sorry. even slowed it down

his head was well into the net tho

I dont know anything about these two teams...but it looks like they were trying to keep 34 in white away from the basket on when on defense, I'd guess he'd cause some issues for offenses???

Tough to tell from the angle. Camera wasn't quick catching up. Kind of looked like he may have hit him with his hip, but the ref signaled it was on the arm, sorry can't help much with that one.

My predictions for tonight's play-in games:

G1: #9 Milnor-North Sargent (6-14) @ #8 Maple Valley (11-9) by 7 to 10 points
G2: #13 Sargent Central (1-18) @ #4 Central Cass (13-7) by 20+
G3: #12 Wyndmere-Lidgerwood (4-15) @ #5 Oak Grove (9-11) by 15
G4: #10 Lisbon (8-12) @ #7 Tri-State (11-9) by 2 to 5 points
G5: #11 Hankinson (5-13) @ #6 Northern Cass (13-7) by 15+

The most interesting one to me is Lisbon and Tri-State. They played on the last game of the season and it was a very close game. I think this one will be similarly close. Often it comes down to who learned the most from the last game. I think Lisbon gets this one on the road (gut feeling). Milnor vs. Maple Valley could be interesting but I think Maple Valley handles business. I would be surprised if the other ones were competitive the whole game.

No disagreements; Lisbon/Tri-State is in Rosholt which is a better gym then where final game was played (Fairmount). The 8/9 & 7/10 games should be very competitive. CC, OG & NC should have no problems with their matchups...slow starts could hinder them but depth will be key here.
