I think FW-M will still be #1 but the gap in votes will be closer!

And if one and done doesn't mean weeks, it means trips??? Wouldn't that mean Four Winds, everyones favorite to win it all including mine, or any other team currently in the top ten that doesn't make it to state but had been in the pools all season. (.ie, HCV or Thompson) wouldn't they also only get one trip into the polls. Possibly the most asinine statement I have ever heard.

Only reason I mention it, for over a month Bulldog fans have been arguing on here that they got left off. After all, this is a topic to talk about the polls and not about season outlook.

EHS1998 posted this early in the season. There were several responses agreeing.
The team that I think is most conspicuously absent from the top 10 is Milnor-North Sargent. If that isn't a top ten team (at a minimum), I don't know what is. They have an elite Class B PG, athleticism, perimeter shooting and size. I don't think they are playing great D yet but if they get that figured out, they could be a strong challenge to Northern Cass in Region 1. Region 1 feels like the deepest region in the state.
I do think that the voters are starting to sort things out. For example, North Star wasn't even getting votes last week and now they are #7, which I absolutely agree with as I thought it was an oversight that they weren't in the top 10.
All this said, I agree with the comments that while fun to discuss, in the overall scheme of things, polls are meaningless. An example, the Class 11A State Champs in football never cracked the top 10 this past season.

Despite the loss to W/L, I'm pretty confident MNS will make a strong post season run, irrespective of what the polls say. I think the loss is very indicative of the strength of Region 1.
I do fervently disagree with any assertion that polls are intrinsically valuable and and as such question how they would motivate anyone. Now, winning a District, Region, State, THOSE are motivating factors. I would love to hear a factual example of any coach using the Class B BBB poll as a motivating tool, as in, "let's be ranked in the top 10 by a bunch of people who have never seen us play." I can absolutely see the inverse happening with coaches, as in, "we are playing the 5th rated team, let's knock them off." I don't hate polls, I actually enjoy discussion around them, I just accept them for what they are really worth....nothing.
It can be a motivator for a team not in the top 10 to beat a top 10 team. I did not state it's a motivator to be ranked. Maybe you should start a petition to ban all polls in all levels of sports. ESPN and this message board would have a lot less to discuss.
