This might be hard to do for it being so early, but if anyone can think of the best seniors in each region?

Region 7- Wyatt Carr's award to lose, Sean Stoltz from Trinity would be the dark horse.

Region 2
Brown(FSHP)- 2nd team All-State last year, definitely in the lead now
Chandler(MPCG)- Strong player, will have the team on his back alone this year
Schwabe(Thomp)- Will be the leader of a team like to be the top of the region
Reed and Henningsgard(HCV)- Both great players, but having both on the same team hurts their stats a little

I think it will come down to Brown and Chandler, but the other three definitely have a chance!

I would add Tristan Lippert from South Border to this list and Hunter Huizinga from Strasburg as well. I don't know if they are as good as the three you mentioned but I think they are good enough to be in the discussion.

Region 1 is loaded with a lot of returning talent this year, but the 3 at the top of the list in my opinion:

Cody Mauch - Hankinson. A big man that can run. He will dominate this year and will be a man amongst boys.

Jake Hanson - Milnor. Solid guard, a lefty that is going to have a great senior season. One of the best guards in the state.

Logan Nelson - Northern Cass. He has the ball in his hands at the end of games for a reason, and everyone saw what he can do at the state tournament last year.

Spot on picks for Region 1. I think it will come down to these three also and would like to add a little on each.

Cody Mauch- Hankinson- Best big in the region by far. Great touch, athleticism, and drive. Love his game and he will be a man among boys in the region. My only issue with Cody is does he have enough supports to keep him from being doubled every time down the court. Nick Mauch will do an good job of getting him the ball but I am not sure there is enough help elsewhere to keep the double team away.

Jake Hanson- Milnor/North Sargent- Great kid who finishes well and can shot from anywhere and is always hustling. Will have more support but will still be the guy that gets his shots. Being a guard helps because he can bring the ball up and MNS will be deep enough to surround him with talent. My pick to be the Sr. Athlete but it will be close.

Logan Nelson- Northern Cass- Love his game, great shooter, clutch performer. Actually the top talent on his team might hurt him because they have a couple of guys that are going to compete for number 1 guy on different nights.

I pick Northern Cass to be the region champ, with Oak Grove and MNS close behind. Actually those three could go either way. Ask me I again in early Jan. Lol. Good luck to these three and all the teams from Region 1.

Throw Hankinson into that mix also...any one of those 4 teams could be there at the end...Region 1 should be tight again

have you watched basketball in the area? if we went with a new town player it would be the lebeau kid, when under control he is best player on their team...steele is a complimentary player. I agree it is simpsons to lose in all scenarios, but the aadnes kid is right behind them as the best point guard in that area hands down, the rodin kid is right there also with speed and aggressiveness but aadnes gets him with the defense also. and foote could have big year too.

Yes i have watched a lot of basketball in this area Lebeau is a junior this year and the topic is "senior of the year". And I find it hard for Aandes and Foote to be in the conversation when they are at best the third best player on there own teams. But I could be wrong this is just my opinion

Royce Verkuhlean and Caleb Hofer from Larimore could be some contenders also
