Sportsrube wrote:Spot on. We have the running clock (Mercy Rule) due to a small group of coaches who "are building their program" by beating teams by 50 or more and playing starters deep into those games. I am not in favor of the mercy rule, but I am betting it is here to stay. Hopefully the NDHSAA will tweak it a bit, but I don't see it going away.

Teams, fans, etc. need to deal with losses. If some team drops you by 50 points because they played their starters deep into the 4th quarter. Deal with it. Why should you care so much? Everyone wants something to complain about.

Agreed......you can't have a potential "huge comeback" if there isn't a blowout taking place......last time I checked I think its called "Sports".......as far as rules to prevent? wasted paper

Oak Grove had a player with a solid stat line (not quite as good as Kludt but still solid) on Saturday in Barnesville, MN: TJ Anderson scored 8 points, dished 8 assists, grabbed 8 boards and had 11 steals.

Both players got really close to quad-doubles...Kludt at least had the triple-double!

88-9 & 75-7 are probably two of the most lopsided scores this year. Maple Valley's GBB has scored less then 10 points in 4 games this year (they do have 1 win on year vs. GCC)

Win-E-Mac beat Climax-Fisher 90-3 just a couple of seasons ago just a couple miles on the MN side of the Red.

I wasn't there, but would love to have a recap! Has anyone seen the box score? Over/Under 40 combined 3's? Would have been fun to watch. Too bad BEK didn't have it covered.

That 4th quarter had to be more like a track meet than a BB game. Amazing.

I believe it was Saturday that good long distance runner, Peyton Frolek, from WL scored 45 of their teams 51 points.

Including game-winning 3 in that game...She went for 40 last night...not bad for someone barely over 5'

District 10 championship game Washburn vs TLMM at Washburn
12 three-pointers were made from the 4:18 mark of the 3rd quarter to the 6:20 mark of the 4th quarter.
7 for TLMM 5 for Washburn
So a span of five minutes and fifty eight seconds 36 points were scored.
TLMM had the only back-to-back triples as they got a buzzer beater to end the third quarter.
Washburn had the only miss just before the TLMM buzzer beater.
TLMM took the lead 22-18 on the first triple.
I don't recall any two-pointers attempted, not in my notes anyway.
