Hillsboro/CV and Enderlin are probably to high and Shiloh and Dunseith probably to low. I'm not super familiar with all the teams.

FW-M...right where they should be.

Dunseith is 9 because FW-M is 1 (top 8 are the 8 region predicted winners).

ORCS & Hettinger-Scranton are too low IMO (should be 2 & 3)

could someone post the Top 25?

Wow, if Dakota Prairie and Rolla are top 5 in Region 4 that region must be really down. Can possibly see DP in there with Sand, but not Rolla. Northstar will still be plenty good and would put them at 3.

At that time of those rankings by PHD, they were not aware of Landyn Keplin transferring to Dunseith.

I had never heard of "Prep hoops Dakota" before today. In looking at their top 10 above, I feel that a couple of the teams don't belong in a top 40. In looking at their site I found it is a pay site for most of their content, which is fine. But, I wouldn't put much faith in the content found on it. They have 3 of the top 5 senior boys in the state of North Dakota playing in North Dakota Class B Region 3. If you are so inclined you can pay to see who this genius thinks are the top 50 seniors. Who knows, maybe 30 of them are from region 3...

Should probably do some more research before make some remarks. I use it as a site to keep track of kids and where they are signing and to keep updated on summer ball. Lots of good info on top kids from across the state. Teams from the ND/SD border get more attention bc they are closer. They site is run by some pretty good sports writers and coaches.

The site may be run by good sports writers and good coaches, but they don't seem to be much for researching. Or, at least struggle with being objective with some teams in their own back yard.

Their rankings of the 2016 class are fairly accurate. I do not agree with them 100%, however...

1. Braedan Hanson - most D2 offers of any 2016 player.
2. Hunter Pinke - received an offer from MSUM, which is in my opinion the best offer any player in that class received for the current situation in the NSIC.
3. Connor Hellebust - currently committed to UMARY.
4. Brody Nieuwsma - 1 of few players currently with offers on the table.
5. Connor Entzi - I know little of his recruitment, but he is a 6'4-5" athletic combo forward who likely ends up playing somewhere and doing fairly well.

I would say that PHD is inclined to rank players higher if they are more likely to play college basketball, as I personally think Dalton Feeney would have been the highest recruited 2016 player in basketball.

Enderlin is #4..and that is about right...these boys have been working hard on their game since they were in 5/6 grade ball...(7 seniors) a lot of camps..alot of hard work... determination...and plenty of talent. and a Great Coach. ..Region 1 has always been a tough Region...last years 3rd place team Oak Grove (we lost by 1 in District by a buzzer beater and we lost to them at Region championship) they were the state Champs the year before that.. it wont be an easy one this year..... polls are only #'s... to get to state you have to play better than everyone else... I think they are up for that task.......Watch out...Here Come those Eagles

I think Parshall is a bit too high. Granted, I only have limited experience watching them, but No. 2 in the state for a team that lost by 50 in the opening round in the state tournament? I'll say they are likely improved. Deyondre Simpson looked incredibly promising, so I'd consider them a top 10 team, just not that high.

I think Enderlin is closer to 4 in the region rather than 4 in the state. Personally I have them 3rd behind Northern Cass and Milnor/N. Sargent. Enderlin finished the year strong last year, no question. But, they lost a lot of experience off that squad. The returning seniors you mentioned really didn't see the court last year. After Graham, the next leading scorer in the class averaged 1.0 ppg. The class other than Graham scored a total of 25 points total for the year. Maybe they are returning a lot of experience in this years junior class??? Nope, Peter is the only boy back to score more than one point per game other than Graham. Peter averaged 9.4 points/game and is a good player with length who defends well.

Don't get me wrong, the Eagles will be good this year. They may even get to state. It wouldn't be a shocker if they did. But of the top 3 teams in the region, they have the greatest number of unknowns that will need to step up.

Enderlin has more talent than you think...those seniors have had to wait...due to the fact that last years senior..5 of the top 7 were talented and the JV team was basically their scrimmage opponent during practice....their JV has only lost about 6 games in the past 2 years... Region 1 is a tough Region...and I am not saying NC or MNS wont be tough they will be a true test for Enderlin...but... talent wise along with Height(they will go 6'6",6'5",6'4",6'3,6',6,'5'11,'5'9) off the bench.....along with Coach Kraft leading them..Enderlin will be up for the Challenge...as I said before #'s mean nothing...you just have to play better than the other teams in order to win

If the egales shoot poorly against good teams they will lose. They will only go as far as Graham and Peter will take them they have a young guard that could be good in a few years though.

We will soon find out...
Top 10 matchup to begin the season
Our Redeemers @ Parshall on Dec. 12
All fans/media from east of state should come watch this game and get a look at some of the talent out west before they are overlooked again. Should be a good one.

No one is overlooking the West...how can you with ORCS, H-S, Trinity, Shiloh, Parshall...should I keep going?

In basketball, I think the power this year shifts...but the east will have their fair share of talent too!

We are a week away from the first games! Some big, early season showdowns! The boys forum isn't getting much action (with the exception of Region 1, which I love reading because I don't see many games from there). Anybody else have any thoughts from any region? I think there is pretty good east-west balance this year. I also think there will be a few unfamiliar faces at this years State tournament (Enderlin, H-CV, Strasburg-Zeeland, Our Reedemers and Hettinger Scranton all picked to win their regions, none have been at state in the past few years)
