Region 3: Toss Up. Linton is the favorite, but I think any one of 6 other teams could beat them on a given night. I think any one of 7 teams could get hot and win this Region.

EDIT: The craziness of this Region is already starting with the two first place regular season champions going at it in the first round as a two and three seed! (Carrington Dist. 5 regular season champ - 3 seed vs. LInton Dist. 6 regular season champ - two seed)

I don't think any Region tournament is given after tonight's district games. I'm a Region 3 fan and our tournament is wide open. 2 #1s meeting in 1st round. Going to be wild! Also I think after tonight Region 1 is also wide open. March madness!!!!!!

Enderlin just might be the hottest team going into R1!

2015 Class B Boys Region Predictions

Region 1 - Fargo Oak Grove (4 pretty good teams here though in Oak Grove, Hankinson, Central Cass, & Northern Cass...might be the toughest region in the state) Oak Grove goes back to defend their title.

Region 2 - Mayville-Portland-CG (come down to Cavalier & MayPort)...second weakest Region since this isn't football!

Region 3 - Linton (they have a good coach & tradition going for them)

Region 4 - This will be a wild one North Star vs. Four Winds...yet again. Four Winds

Region 5 - Shiloh Christian (Would love to see someone else other than them...Solen needs to get it together mentally & come to play)

Region 6 - Rugby (A good region here-- Berthold & Our Redeemers...good teams..just likely not good enough..never know though. This is a toss up as it's going to be real tough for Rugby to get through again)

Region 7 - New England (A fairly tough region--I think it's a little over rated yet again...always is. Decent teams though)

Region 8 - The weakest region in the state by far. It will be a rough ride at the State B for whoever comes from here for sure. It will come down to New Town & Parshall. New Town has the most talent. They don't play hard or together very often. Big guys only hustle only when they want to...which isn't very often. Their guards would rather shoot bad shots than pass the ball inside too. They don't play together very well. Different coaching staff this year there & it almost looks like the players run the show. Too bad too. They have good talent. Edge goes to Parshall. They play harder, their guards are better, & seem to play hard for their coaching staff & each other.

Always interesting to see how things turn out.

Region 1: Hankinson- Would have picked Oak Grove but teams seem to have trouble repeating in this region.

Region 2: Cavalier- Weak region so I am going with the most athletic player, Brock Robbins.

Region 3: Linton-HMB- Beats Strasburg in the championship game again.

Region 4: North Star- Should be a really good game, toss up IMO.

Region 5: Shiloh- Wide open region, Shiloh has trouble scoring so if a team gets hot they are in trouble.

Region 6: Rugby- Tough choice here, would not be surprised if they do not make it back to state.

Region 7: New England- Toughest region in the state, NE is coming in riding a long winning streak.

Region 8: New Town- NT could dominate this region with their size but could also lose to an average team.

Region 4: St. John *homer pick* (Dunseith as a dark horse)

1. Enderlin- Coming on at the right time. Should have won their district.
2. Cavalier- Well balanced region without standout team. Cavalier has recent tradition on their side.
3. Linton/HMB- Some other good teams here, but I'm going with the favorite.
4. Four Winds/Minn.- I think this is the safest pick from any region.
5. Shiloh- Not a very strong region.
6. Rugby- They are not a lock, but how can you go against them logically?
7. Hettinger/Scranton- Taking a flyer here. Counting on them shooting well.
8.Parshall- Haven't heard much good about the region.....

My Predictions

Region 1 - Central Cass. Don't know much about this region but I agree this is a tough region with Fargo Oak Grove, Northern Cass, Central Cass, and Enderlin

Region 2 - Cavalier. After having yet a another dominanting year in football. The tornadoes head back to state in basketball but this isn't football and May-Port-CG is gonna test them in the region title game.

Region 3 - Linton-HMB. But they won't win these region easily with Strasburg-Zeeland, Oakes, and LaMoure-L-M in it.

Region 4 - Harvey-Wells County. The 1st time Four Winds played Harvey they beat them by 30 and in the district title game they beat them by 14. Four Winds-Minnewaukan has their work cut out for them with North Star and Harvey trying to snatch that region title away from them. I see Harvey beating North Star and getting a another shot at Four Winds but the third times gonna be the charm for Harvey they move on. And besides I'd rather see someone else make it out of this region besides Four Winds and North Star. Sorry I don't see the #1 rank team in the state making it to the final eight. I smell an upset just like when Warwick almost upset North Star a couple of years ago.

Region 5 - Max or Washburn. I've seen Shiloh play and they have a tough time scoring. Washburn started the season out hot but cooled of since. And Max is getting hot at the right time. I've seen both Max and Washburn play and if Washburn plays like they did at the beginning of the season Shiloh's in trouble. As for Solen they started out 15-0 and went 2-4 in their last 6 games but they struggle when comes to tournament time. As a District 10 fan I would like to see a team from our district make it to state even though my hometown Underwood Comets are eliminated better luck to them next year.

Region 6 - Rugby will make it back to state. But Berthold is gonna make it real tough on them in the region title game.

Region 7 - New England or Hettinger-Scranton goes to state. Someone other than Beulah or Dickinson Trinity.

Region 8 - New Town wins the rematch over Parshall.

It's March Madness so anything can happen in North Dakota High School Basketball. But we could see a couple of upsets in these Region Tournaments. But good luck to all teams.
