Remember Alamo

Postby Bill232H » Mon Nov 24, 2014 9:43 pm

I was looking around the internet and found this interesting photo taken of the Alamo school gym. I know the school closed in 1990. It seems so small. Did they play there in the 70"s and 80's? I went past the school myself a few years ago. It seemed that it could only have one gym. If anyone knows anything about this gym I'd like to hear it. http://richardcolburn.com/zoom/1400x720/1414498.html

That's not a pic of any Alamo gym. It does have a small gym built in the 1920's and also a much larger one built in the late 1960's.

It just makes me think how cool North Dakota high school basketball would have been back then. So many schools, fewer coops and consolidations, it must have been huge.

Its so much more commercialized now...the great days of ball (then) were when you didn't care who was supposed to be better or who the "big dog" was on the opposing team.... HeII, you may have never seen him before....now days its to much of guaranty
