Top Big Guys

I haven't see too much about Class B's top post players for the 2014-2015 season. I am interested to see who everyone thinks the best centers in the state will be.

Are you talking about guys that are primarily posts or just big players in general. I ask because Brad Heidlelbaugh has good size for Class B but he is not a 5 (true post player). He is more of a 4. In fact, Zach Miller seems to play this role for Rugby and probably is in the top 5-10 in the state in terms of a true post. Also, Brock Robbins is big and strong, but not a 5.

I really liked how the two Grady boys from Newtown played in the state tournament. Not a lot of skilled big men anymore that like to play with their back to the basket. There's got to be a few out there, though.

Dustin Weeks-Glenburn. Young and raw. At 6' 9" still getting used to his body with coordination. But at that height the makings for a very good post. Trace Azure can pound inside with the best of them, but is sneaky and smooooooth.

Now that dunseith is in region 4 I'm going to have to check out one of their games to see this Azure kid play

In Region 3, we don't have a lot of true back to the basket post's, but who we have are pretty solid.

Quinn Alo, Jr - LLM - 6'2 - 300?, Extremely strong but also moves well and has quick feet. Continues to improve. Will be a major factor for the Loboes this year.

Hunter Pinke, Jr - South Border - 6'6, 195-200?. Predominantly played the post his freshman year but started to step away from the basket last year. I am betting we see more of this as he projects as a 3 in college, I'm guessing. Mentioning him here as he is a very good post player.

Chris Miller, EKM - 6'2, 190-195? - Has shown tremendous improvement the last 2 years. Very active, hard worker, seems very coachable. Could be a huge factor for the Rebels this year.

Dylan Bitz, Sr - Napoleon - Not sure of measurements but has a big heart, plays hard, very similar to Miller, figures out how to contribute.

Jacob Eberle, Jr - Strasburg Zeeland - 6'0 - Provided a great lift to the Clippers last year after transferring from Carrington. Undersized but still finds out a way to defend, score and rebound. Really like this kids game.

Adam White, Sr - Ellendale - 6'4 205. Has had a pretty productive career to date but sustained team success has been elusive.

There are a lot of good players who play the 4 or 5 but are in that 5'10-6'1 range. I guess it depends on what you're really looking for. If you want a list of all the centers or 4s who are 6'3+, could end up being a pretty short list.

Monte Goodbird - Parshall 6' 5' 295lb Jr. Soft hands and moves well. Great TE in football too.

Dawson Kaufman- 6'2" 240? Silkiest hook shot I've ever saw.
