1. Shiloh- Should be really solid on defense.
2. Solen- Athletic, can score.
3. Standing Rock- Wild card in this region, if Iron Shield plays they will be good.
4. Washburn- Should win district 10 easily.
5. Flasher- Lost a lot, Return one starter.
6. Max- Should make regions for 2nd straight year.
7. TL-M-M- Had some good young players last year.
8. Garrison- Doesn't have much returning, makes regions through weak region
9. New Salem- Rebel is good. Could beat Flasher to make regionals.
10. Wilton-Wing- Returns one quick guard.
11-13 Grant Co, Underwood, Center-Stanton - Would not want to watch any of these teams play each other.

I agree standing rock is the wild card in this region. Only Shiloh is in there way from making it to state
Standing Rock
Shiloh
Washburn
Solen
Garrison
Flasher
Max
Turtle lake
New Salem
Wilton-wing
Grant county
Center-Stanton
Underwood

In order IMO this is how the region will end up

Shiloh could possibly be up there for going 20-4 last year (never made it to State last year and 3 of their losses were to a great Flasher team). Maybe for returning a line up that beat Linton, Oak Grove, Dickinson Trinity and taking Hazen to OT. Standing Rock is a wild card every year. They have a ton of talent, but can they gel as a team? I also believe Solen will be very good and played Shiloh tough last year in Solen.

Going into Districts and Regionals, I think both Districts and Region is up for grabs. There is not one completely dominate team in either District or the region. Here is my prediction.

District 9 Top Four
Shiloh
Solen
Flasher
Standing Rock

District 10 Top Four
Garrison
Washburn
Max
Turtle Lake

Region 5
Shiloh
Solen
Garrison
Washburn
Flasher
Standing Rock
Max
Turtle Lake

This Region will be a battle as the top 6 teams are all very capable of coming out on top.

Does anyone know how the District No 1 team is determined in the event of a 3 way tie in which Shiloh beat Solen, Solen beat Flasher, and Flasher beat Shiloh, like below?

REGION 5
District 9
Shiloh Christian 4-1 (12-5)
Solen 4-1 (16-3)
Flasher 4-1 (11-6)
4. Standing Rock 2-3 (10-7)
5. New Salem-Almont 1-4 (6-11)
6. Grant County 0-5 (1-16)

I'd hope that they have a better way of doing that before having to flip a coin.

Point Differential vs. each other?

I would assume they would do the Pt. Differential vs each other so it would go 1. Solen then head to head to determine 2. Flasher, 3. Shiloh

That was my thought too...just sent a question to someone 'in-the-know' and will see what I get back. If I get a bracket back I will post it in the District Tourney topic.

another district that I know of goes by just straight point differential to determine the order and throws out head to head. I don't agree with it really, but am surprised that these tiebreakers are done so differently across the area.

District 2 has something called power points..that is done first.

I wish every district was unified (or every region when super regions start up) so that its easier to run standings and keep things straight and correct.

So here's what I heard...the max in pt differential is 10...so therefore they all did tie.

So it went to a straight draw to determine the three-way tiebreak...and then head-to-head came into play

Shiloh - #1
Solen - #2
Flasher - #3

Run4fun,

Thank you for looking into this; although I'm not quite sure I understand this portion of the explanation.
"So it went to a straight draw to determine the three-way tiebreak" Please clarify how exactly this is done.

From what I have heard:
They took 3 cards, a king, queen and a jack. FLasher had the first pick (im assuming they were first because they won the district last year) and when Flasher's coach drew his card it was the jack, hence they got the third seed. Then the first and second seed was deceided by the winner of the head to head matchup between Shiloh and Solen, which Shiloh won so they have the first seed and Solen received the second seed.

All I was told was Shiloh drew the high card. Then I assume the 2-way tie went back to head-to-head which Solen def. Flasher 63-39.
