Shawn Stoltz. He will be a very good player for them. They also have Willy Jahner that will be a very good player as well.

WoooooHooooo! Almost basketball season! I'll expand on Region 7 a bit Schwab...

Cole Olson-Heart River
Cade Shipkowski-Heart River
Trenton Rohr-Killdeer
Hayes Lemeaux-Killdeer (Probably not spelled correctly)
Wyatt Carr-Hazen
Jett Hettich-Beulah
Luke Blood-Beulah-Senior of the year?
Casey Walker-Beulah
Daniel Prince-New England-Senior of the year?
Brady Bender-New England
John Urlacher-New England
Ty Nordby-New England
Hayden Sadowski-Hettinger/Scranton
Isaiah Kludt-Hettinger/Scranton
Shawn Stoltz-Trinity
Cole Wilhelmi-Trinity-Senior of the year?
Willy Jahner-Trinity
Spencer Floberg-Richardton/Taylor

I cheated, and used the Hoopster.

Not listed are the new kids to New England...Kilwein and Holt. Have to see how they play first. And I probably missed some from Mott, Beach, Bowman, Glenn Ulin/Hebron.

Schwab, you think there will be some added intensity between NE and Hett/Scranton this year?

NE and Hettinger Scranton have had some pretty intense games the past 3 years. I would assume that will be the case again this year.

Someone with some knowledge of Region 2 want to share your ideas from Region 2? The only players from region two that I know belong on the list would be Robins from Cavalier and Peterson from Hatton/Northwood.

Connor Moore, MPCG
Ben Phelps, DVE
Jake Peterson, Larimore
Jace Pederson, H-N
Brock Robbins, Cavalier
Cale Schwabe, Thompson
Jordan Johnson, PR-FL
Hunter Baldwin, Grafton
Jayden Grover, GCC

just to name a few more from Region 2. More complete lists will be in topics later this week for each Region.

The Schwab wrote:I am not as familiar with the other parts of the state, so I will throw out some Region 7 players who will be very tough this year. I don't think a lot of you posters on here have the opportunity to see Region 7 teams play.

No Particular Order-

Casey Walcker (11th)- Beulah
Luke Blood (12th)- Beulah
Dan Prince (12th)- New England
Hayden Sadowsky (11th)- Hettinger-Scranton
Isaiah Kludt (9th)- Hettinger-Scranton
Wyatt Carr (10th)- Hazen
And Trinity has a couple kids you could put on this list as well

Will Blood be healthy? I heard he really struggled with hamstring issues in football, and those can linger for a long time.

Region 2 has quite a few good scorers. I watch mostly PRFL games, as Park River is one of the places I work. I'm waiting to see the progress players like Rehovsky, Beneda, and Dobmeier make. All 3 have a chance to have great seasons.

Rehovsky and Dobmeier are as good as Beneda, for PRFL. You covered the VE kids, too. Both Phelps and Larson are very good.

What is the situation with Northstar Alex Weston I read where he was hurt in last football game. I hope this isn't going effect him for the basketball season. I hate see any kid get hurt and have to miss playing and especially there senior season.

Heard he's recently had surgery to repair ACL.

I was mutually impressed with Kvilvang NS and Pederson H-NW when I saw them play this season

Jace sees the floor well and is real good with his teammates, his start stop ability is impressive
his acceleration off step one is crucial to his ability to go to the hole and his stop jumper is tight not sloppy.
hits the long ball well also.

Kulvang has a strong game you can tell hes a powerful kid...may tend to fade back or side to side slightly to much on his close in jumpers but he seems to know this and they fall...runs the floor real well

District 12, I think, is full of talent.
Berthold - Austin Lee
Our Redeemers - Josh VanLith, Davis Koppinger, John Reiten (a lot of young talent, state contender 2016-2017 season)
Bishop Ryan - Tyler Dawes, Jared Will
Des Lacs-Burlington - Brett Schaefer
Glenburn - Dustin Weeks, Trent Marquart
Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood - definitely rebuilding year, tons of young talent

For any of these Posters not to consider Carter Mauch from Hankinson in their discussion is a mistake. He did miss last year which could contribute to them not considering him, but he's definitely a top 5 or top 10 talent in the entire state - any Class.

If you don't agree, just watch him one time and your opinion will change. Guaranteed.

I agree with you 100%. Carter is a very special player. There haven't been many teams that have been able to slow him down.

thx Slumdog! Watching Carter Mauch score 39 points & 16 rebounds in dominating fashion vs. Oak Grove sealed it for me when it comes to Region 1 Player of the Year.
