One of those seniors was Andrew Small who willed them to state in the regional championship and was their best shooter/scorer. Yes, even better than Purintin. That's a huge loss IMO.

Small is a tremendous shooter, no doubt. They will miss his scoring but he will be replaced by a better defender in Holzer. Flyberg's defense will be missed as well. He did a great job on Robbins in the state quarters. Region 3 will be interesting again next year.

Just curious about Larimore and New Town? Larimore loses Hofer and Yahna from a team that missed out on regionals. Also, New Town loses 4 of it's top 7 players including both guys who handled the ball.

Some questions to look at:
Will Hatton/Northwood be able to put things together with returning Pedersen and Pladson and most of their other key players? Will anyone challenge OG in region 1? Maybe Central Cass? Will anyone challenge Rugby in region 4 with all those top seniors graduating? Could a Class B athlete win Mr. Basketball with Kretchman and Heidelbaugh as top candidates? Will Region 4 continue its 5 year run of winning a top 3 trophy?

PLEASE tell me that Rugby is not replacing Carrington in Region 4 next year! 4 Winds, NorthStar and Rugby in the same region? That might be borderline criminal!

but those seniors were huge for them this year Smalls is a huge reason that they even got by Strasburg/Zeland in the region championship hitting huge shots at the end of the game.

No Rugby stays in the same Region and I don't see anyone challenging them until state again, they will be playing with a chip on their shoulders

They're not. Dakota Prairie will be joining District 7 and Dunseith will be joining District 8. Thinking he meant Region 6 because Region 4 didn't have that many top seniors graduate off the top teams. North Star brings back their entire team and Four Winds/Minnewaukan lost Hadley Smith, but do still have Trayvon McKay and were relatively young off the bench. St. John does lose a lot, however.

My unintelligent total guess predictions for 2014-2015

Region 1: Oak Grove - lose some - but bring back a lot
Region 2: - Hatton/Northwood or Griggs County
Region 3: Linton-HMB - I never doubt Dan Carr
Region 4: North Star/FWM - should be a great Region
Region 5: Shiloh Christian - when in doubt, go with the usual.
Region 6: Rugby - NO doubt
Region 7: Dickinson Trinity
Region 8: New Town - I know they lose a ton, but who else? Watford?

I wouldn't give linton-HMB region 3 at all that was a tough region and now they add Carrington and Oakes who are both verry tough teams that region's a toss up

Shiloh beat Oak Grove, Linton/HMB and Dickinson Trinity on their home court this year. I would say it's safe to pick them for Region 5 since they are returning 4 starters from this years team and a strong six man. The big question mark will be the bench. A lot of talent, but not a lot of experience on their bench.

District 9:
1. Shiloh - Returns a lot, heard some talk about players transferring here but that could just be rumors.
2. Solen - Pretty young and athletic, returns some scorers.
3. Flasher - Loses a lot, do return one starter and their 6th man.
4. New Salem - Returns their best player, but had no bench and lost a few starters.
5. Grant County - Lost 5 seniors from a team that didn't make regionals.
6. Standing Rock - Went winless.

District 10:
1. Washburn - Had some good sophomores last year.
2. Max - Lost a lot but return a solid post player.
3. TL-MM - Return a few starters.
4. Wilton - Lost a lot, but do return one quick guard.
5. Garrison - Lost a lot.
6. Center-Stanton - lost a lot from an under average team.
7. Underwood - Went winless.

There is always rumors of kids transferring to Private schools. In Shiloh's case, it wouldn't matter one way or another. They played one of the toughest schedules in the State last year and will have almost the identical starting line up.

Are any of the teams in District 10 going to co-op next year? I thought I seen somewhere that Max and Garrison might.

Shiloh has had at least one new player transfer in each year for the past 3 years so I think its a little more than just talk. I think they should get past this region without much difficulty but adding another player could make them a bigger threat in the state tournament.

You are correct, Shiloh has had students transfer in the last 3 years on both the boys and girls side. My point is I think Shiloh will be able to compete for a State title next year with or without a transfer. They return their core players that went 20-4 this year. Shiloh beat Oak Grove and Linton this year with kids that started their first year of varsity ball. If they improve from last year, there is no telling where they will end up. (This would be without a transfer.)

New town will win region 8 and make it back to state. They did lose 4 good guys but they have a good trio in Grady twins and the WhiteOwL kid back I also hear they might get a few transfers in. If so they should be a top 3 team in state. If those kids don't transfer in they still will make it back to state only watford city could give them a go. IMO. And I know they a hungry after what happened at state.

Next season FWM will play Shiloh, Trinity, Rugby, Beulah, probably play Larimore and NS in the Ramsey County, Cavalier in GF, throw in Des lacs, Grafton and Carrington and I'd say its a pretty solid schedule.

Oak Grove will have the usual tough District 2 schedule (minus FSHP as they are leaving district), Shiloh, Trinity; and add MN teams like Hawley, Barnesville, Perham, Park Christian & Hillcrest. Its a pretty tough schedule also...to early to tell who has hardest (must wait until season starts)
