Do you think I was that far off?

I did think that Ryan would cause Rugby problems. I also think Rugby is where they are at due to the way they match up defensively, and how the game gets called plays into that. To me it looked like Rugby took some time off defensively in Districts...Anyway I expected Ryan to cause matchup problems, by taking advantage of what Rugby didn't do defensively in districts, & I expected the game to be called tighter than Rugby was used to and I also thought Rugby would be off from travelling and the week plus of off time...Thought Ryan would keep it close and somehow squeak it out...

I'll stick with what I posted in the R6 thread...Rugby over ORCS in Championship

Run, when was the last time a D1 4 seed beat a D2 1 seed during the opening round of Regionals?

Amazingly the final 4 teams in Region 6 have only 9 combined losses. DLB 2....
Berthold 3....ORCS 4....Rugby 0. There should be some very exciting, entertaining and hard fought games tonight! Good luck to all Region 6 players tonight! Good luck to other region players playing tonight!! My prediction is as follows: IMO.....Rugby over Berthold in a close one. (68-62).....DLB over ORCS in another close one. (63-54)

Championship game- DLB in what would be considered a mild upset over Rugby (59-56) IMO. :P

Um...I know OG was upset a couple of years back by Wyndmere in that same scenario. Probably around a decade ago. Not sure its happened since then.

Milnor will come out on top tonight. Just not Oak Groves time. Next year should be a lock for them.

Oak Grove is dominating the 3rd quarter. At the end of the 3rd, it's Oak Grove 59 Milnor 45.

It's a DLB LAKER win over ORCS in Region 6 semifinals thanks to a 40 point game by Tanner Holte!!! (and he sat out almost 2 quarters with foul trouble) :) :D

GO LAKERS!!!

Yes Tanner is a great player and person, but the coach said he sat out seven minutes (minot daily) not almost 2 quarters. But he did have nineteen in the fourth.

Judging by the records of teams playing tomorrow I calculated that we could possibly have 15 teams with 20 wins before the state tournament starts (obviously some of them wouldn't be going to state) any one have any idea what the record for 20 win teams in a year for the state is (Run you would probably be the only person who could some how find this out lol.)

The most I could find was SIX 20-win teams at the START of the State Tourney. This year every region has a chance to put a 20-win team in the State Tourney.

Do you think that this is a testament to how good these teams are this year? Or do you think it is a result of a lack of quality in teams in the bottom of some of the regions aka lack of competition?

I think it can be a mixture. Every region is going to have some poor teams...but many of these teams with 20+ wins (or 19 at the moment) have played plenty of solid competition too. I can look into it more tomorrow & Friday to give more of a statistical view to things.

Sorry, I wasn't at the game but had to listen to it on the radio.(KCJB) Scott Katel (sp.?) said he sat out almost a 2 quarters. I didn't mean to inflate what really took place. :) Thanks for letting me know.

I think we will witness 2 teams play tonight (Rugby -vs- DLB) that both deserve a spot in the state tournament. I will take DLB over Rugby in a mild upset that will send the Lakers back to state for the first time since 1998!

GO LAKERS!!

That was one of the best games I've ever heard on the radio. Must have been electric in the sports center.

Listened to the four-winds game online and that was some great ball played tonight. Couldn't imagine being in the sportscenter.
