Who do you think are the best point/shooting guards in the region and or districts

Hunter Braaten and Cole Edwards are probably the best "point guards" in the region. Other good guards are Austin Lee from Berthold, Tanner Bernhardt from Rugby, Chris Duke from DLB, and Eli Luna from TGU. Bosch is a good player from Ryan and so is Medallen from DLB. Sometimes Holte from DLB and Heidlebaugh from Rugby play guard as well, so you have to include them in the mix. They're probably two of the better players in the state. Lots of really good players in region six this year. I probably forgot about 10 that could be mentioned, but that's a start.

top guards have to go to Bosch from Ryan, Braaten from westhope newberg, and Edwards from DLB. All three are play makers and game changers. They all 3 control games and make plays that without them their teams would struggle

How about josh VanLith from Minot our redeemers? I watched the kid play in Shiloh and he's got potential. I think he's. Two year starter and just now a sophomore so he's definitely got time to mature and be one of the better guards in the region

there are a lot of good guards but this season so far has to go to austin lee from berthold, averaging well over 20 points, on pace to set nd single season record for 3's while shooting close to 50%, and has his team undefeated when they weren't supposed to be that great this year. but once again probably best set of guards in any region

Kid is very impressive. He's got such a quick trigger from off the bounce it's kind of amazing.

I definitely agree that Lee is a very good player. I think it might be a bit of a stretch to say he's on pace to break the state record for 3's made in a year. That would mean he'd have to average probably about 6 a game and have already made somewhere between 50 and 60.

well I believe he already had a game with 12...so he could easily be around 50 right now.

That has to be close to a single game record for class B, isn't it?

Yep you are correct Indy5...I just found the tweet that was posted that night. 11 is still pretty good...plenty of teams don't even see 11 in one night

I believe he was at 44 through 7 or 8 games, so that's right at that 5 to 6 a game, anyway having a really nice year

I knew he had made a bunch, just didn't realize it was that many already. Good for him having a great year shooting the ball. And yeah, Run, I would second that, lots of teams don't hit that many in a night. The hoop must've looked pretty big for him that night.

I don't know what the state class b record is for the most 3's in a season. But I do know that in last years season,Chris Duke from DLB had the most treys of class b in the state with 66 . I would be interested to know what the over all record is as well as the record for most treys in a game.

This is false. I am not sure who lead class B in 3s last season but I do know that two players from region 5 had more than 66 3's. Adam Peltier from Turtle Lake had around 80 and Taylor Krenz from Flasher had 69(not sure why he was only listed with 34 in the hoopster.)

If what you say is correct, I guess I better use stats from some place other than the hoopster. No slight intended. Peltier and Krenz numbers you stated were not listed in the hoopster.

Those stats are sent in by coaches/statisticians; sometimes stats aren't always sent in or done correctly. Peltier's wouldn't have been in there since he was not a returning athlete unless the coach wanted to list it in the little article for TLMM.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the record is in the high one-teens to low 120's.

Unofficially I think the record is 123 3's in one season; girls record is 101.

Greg Routledge from Glenburn. I believe it was 1996 or 1997.

Would you rather have a scoring guard or As pass first guard on your team? I can think of a few guys who are great in the passing regard but don't get acknowledged because they don't score as much.
