How does everyone see Region 6 playing out this year? Who are the best players from the contenders?

Maybe best region in state(sorry R7 guys)...Rugby, DLB, Berthold LC, ORCS, Ryan...5 teams in it.
Heidlebaugh is best player in region...just needs to stay healthy. Can score on the block or behind the 3.
Holte can dominate on size alone.
Both these guys can be "unstoppable"...

Rugby hosts DLB and Four Winds in early Jan...for what that's worth

I do think depth and health will figure into it as the favorites now aren't what I would consider deep even for a B school. You have a Big B and the Minot "suburbs" and privates...

Big game in Rugby tonight as DLB comes to play. If both teams play well, it should be a really good one. The teams match up pretty well.

Its fun to see the different regions rise up, plateau and slide back down...a few years back it was for sure region 4, then 7, now 6...but the tell tale story is the "B" and Region 1 got it last year when Oak was 65% the majority to represent the Region......thats why when people say "well the state championship is being played today" (and its a region final game)....all that garbage is hog wash...along with this

1. who the best player is
2. what the Best Region is
3. who plays the best comp throughout the season

what matters is
1. who represents each region at State
2. who shows up to play there (as a player but more importantly team)
3. and of course WHO WINS THE TOURNAMENT!!!!.......... :D

Good luck everybody.....your gonna need some

Probably the best matchup in District 11 tonight as Westhope-Newburg plays Rugby in Rugby.

Okay, so here's a question.......You get a starting 5 and 3 Bench players to make up a "standard" rotation. Who are your 8 from region 6?

Here's mine:

1. Hunter Braaten
2. Austin Lee
3. Chris Duke
4. Brad Heidlebaugh
5. Tanner Holte

6. Tanner Bernhardt
7. Brody Bosch
8. Zach Miller

Congrats to Tanner Holte and Chris Duke from DLB. Chris reached the 1,000 point mark in his career on Jan 17, 2014 and on Jan. 21, 2014, Tanner became the all time leading scorer in DLB basketball history.(1,691 pts.)I believe that is the right total. Way to go guys! :D :D

Sticks,
I would say that this team would be an insurmountable force to contend with. The funny thing is - your starting 5 are all averaging over 20 pts per game, and they come from teams with a combined record of 46-4. Usually you only see kids scoring that much on mediocre to subpar teams. I would take This team over any other all-region team in the state. I would take 10 however and add M. White from Berthold (the older one, I always get their names mixed around) and Cory Poitra from Dunseith.

One could argue that Cole Edwards for DLB should be on this list.

It would be AAU style......good Basket ball is not outstanding players united for one game IMO ...Good basketball is players who have been practicing and playing together from youngsters (which is usually, what Class B is) and synced in with a great coach....now you have good basketball!

I think the quality of basketball played in AAU is very high. :-)

Let me put my reference to "good basketball" in context

"John Calipari is taking the AAU play out of his freshman and getting them to gel better as a team"

Make sense?........"AAU is quality Basketball" yes it is...and its better at the end of the summer than the beginning
