Exactly. That I think shows why those teams have been ranked, and or mentioned most of the year. Rugby, DLB, FW-M have had the chance to play and prove themselves. I wish other teams in the poll had some of those teams on their schedules. Just as a example, take number one from last year and have them play #2, 4, and 8 maybe from how they finished last year. It wouldn't always play out to be a good game or schedule, but it could provide some interesting talk and games before the tourney.

1. Rugby (15) 19-0 150
2. Oak Grove 18-1 124
3. Milnor 18-1 111
4. Cavalier 18-1 106
5. Four Winds-Minnewaukan 17-2 105
So if Rugby makes it to state undefeated are they the easy #1 seed?
Is OG/Milnor the #2?
Cav #3?
FW-M #4?

Assuming none of these teams lose before state.

IMO...Rugby is #1 as long as they get there. OG/Milnor/Cavalier/FW-M could be in any of the other seeded spots...I could see arguments for all 4 teams as the 2, 3, or 4 seed.

I don't think any seed is easy to predict, but I would expect they would be the top 4 in the seeding and it would be very hard not to have Rugby #1.

If DLB knocks off Rugby and has a win over FWM already, where do you think they would get seeded?

Depends on who the other teams are...but yes I would think that they would likely get seeded...not #1 though

DLB has also played Hazen and lost badley if I recall early in the season. Not sure if they were at full strength and if that will play a part in seeding if they do indeed make state

DLB last to Hazen with a score of 88 to 62. And they were not at full strength, they were missing Chris Duke. I believe they would have won that game had been playing. Based on his stats.

I know that Duke is a good player, and obviously the game would've been differen't if he had played, but 26 points? I don't think that gives it merit to say they would have won.

You never know, 1 player can help change the flow of a game. With him averaging 20+ point per game and with his height and ability as a rebounder, it is very possible/likely they would have won.

I have to agree with sticks11..Duke is a good player but I've seen him (this year) not even close to his 20 plus average against some other opponents.
It is very difficult to state that they would have probably won because there are too many variables contributing in any given game.

I agree 26 points is a lot for one player to make up. Some of the points he would have had would take away some from the other players. My guess they still lose by 10-15.

as these tourneys take place lets remember in Basketball a Win is a Win, it matters not how it happens or happened (this has helped me throughout the years because of a tough loss) applaud the winner & tip your hat to the one who lost....

Great post winner-within !! It's so easy to play the "what if" game. The best team won that day!!

I certainly wasn't pertaining to that game or any other.... :) the philosophy takes the bickering's and what ifs (like you said) out of it....leaving less pressure on the athlete or the avid fan...what irks me is when I hear a home town fan say "they deserved to lose" about their home team....and remember I've lived in more than one place and work in a different place and talk to fans from other places so it happens all over and its bullpuckey ....that person has to ask themselves if they would have appreciated the same talk when they were playing ...

Barring some crazy upsets which regions have basically no chance of being seeded?

I don't see Region 3 or 8 getting seeded; Region 5 & 7...maybe wouldn't be seeded.

Just my opinion

Questions
seeding is new for this season right?
so the line up at state hasn't been determined right?

had a few asking and I'm not clear on it either .. :)
thanks!

Top 4 get seeded, the rest is a random draw.

State-Bound Coaches vote electronically for the 7 teams (excluding their own team). Best and Worst rankings are dismissed and the others are added up and used to Seed top 4 teams. Then a member of the committee will draw at random for the remaining teams to be matched with seeded team.

#1 vs. random
#4 vs. random
#2 vs. random
#3 vs. random

I don't see any. They're big, very good defensively, and rebound very well. Heidlbaugh and Hamilton tag team duties if they get pressured and they handle it well. Plus they are a great passing team. They have inside scoring with Heidlbaugh and Miller. Bernhardt is a lethal 3 point shooter, plus Hamilton and Heidlbaugh both shoot well from the perimeter. The weakest part of their game I guess you could say would be attacking the hoop, but even then, Heidlbaugh does it very well, and Hamilton & Bernhardt can get there if you worry about their perimeter shot too much.

The magic is actually how they all play together as a team and they all contribute extensively.
