I totally agree...Jordan Haseleu is one heck of a player. Matchup nightmare for any team..controls the game extremely well.

Region 1 has been very blessed this year with several great players.

The three seniors up for Senior Athlete of the Year (Jeff Illies, Jordan Haseleu & Ellery Bresnahan) are incredible players and have showcased that at Regions this year!

Speaking of the Senior Athlete of the year, how do they decide it when there is a co-district senior athlete of the year? Is it Illies and then Haseleu/Bresnahan? Or is it all three indicidually?

Its all three individually.

Agreed. I have been lucky enough to watch him play and grow since starting for the Raiders when he was still in Junior High. I believe Coach Card even mentioned how good of a person he is off the court as well in todays Fargo Forum. I hope we are able to follow him at the next level as well because as much fun as it is to listen to the radio broadcast of him playing, it is even more of a treat to watch this young man play in person.

On a side note: Grovers and Raiders, that was one heck of a basketball game. I was cheering for the Raiders to FINALLY get over that hump, but best of luck to the Grovers in the title game.

I really hate to pick against my man Run's team but I have a gut feeling that Bussman and Mund are going to come up big and take down the Grover's. 73 to 69 Bison.

From what I heard he declined their offer.. I'm sure he'll change his mind though, cause I don't see how he couldn't play at the next level!

I doubt the score will be that low. Points will be put up tonight!

Last matchup was Oak Grove def. Milnor 87-63 (very early in season tho).

I'll go final score of 86-83. The hot team coming in is Milnor so I'll go with them. Should be a good one though

It'll be interesting to see how Oak Grove handles 3 things this evening:
1) Milnor's hot shooting 1st quarters thus far in Regionals (started 10-0 on Enderlin & 26-4 on CC)
2) Everyone talks about how well Bussman has played, but how about a little love for Wyatt Mund? He looked like a man amongst boys on Tuesday night carrying Milnor in the 2nd half. It'll be interesting to see how the Grovers want to defend him. He can spot up from 15 feet, beat you off the dribble, or post you up and score with a variety of above average moves. But if you want to commit more than one body to stopping him, we've seen how well the Bison can shoot when they are open.
3) EVERYONE except their own crowd cheering for Milnor. I don't see any casual Region 1 basketball fans sporting maroon tonight.

With that being said, I'll take the Grovers because of their depth, consistent ball pressure, and the number of guys who can beat you from the 3 point line.

Final Score: Oak Grove 79--Milnor 73

Yes, Milnor won 73-70

They play Region 5. I heard that game will be tomorrow due to scheduling conflict.

Not much fan support outside of Oak Grove for the Grovers...Being the Private School in the Region doesn't help.

Side Note: Congrats to the Milnor Bison...they EARNED the win tonight. Make Region 1 proud Milnor!

It also helps that they had been to state two out of the last three seasons, and went undefeated through the region this year. People like cheering for the underdog, especially when the favorite is Oak Grove. It was the same case for Central Cass last year when they played Maple Valley in the semis. Central Cass had mostly dominated all year, and so everyone other than CC's fans wanted the underdog Maple Valley to win.

Crazy surprising result with Milnor winning. Impressive run they've got going on. Hopefully they can end Region 1's thursday slump at state! (Region 1 has only had a team playing in the semifinals two times since Oak Grove's championship in 2000, 2-10 in the first round in that span.)
