I'll take S-Z over PBK by at least 14 pts, SB over Ellendale by less than 10 pts, LaMoure-LM over Kidder County by 15 or more and Linton-HMB over EK by 12 or more.
This should be a very good tournament with LaMoure being the favorite with S-Z and L-HMB not that far behind them and SB being a sleeper with a chance to upset someone before it is over.

I agree that SZ rolls over PBK.
Lamoure LM should not have much trouble with KC as I think it will be tough for KC to match up against them.
I think the LHMB vs EKM game will be tighter than the last time these teams met but LHMB probably is too much for the Rebels.

Get ready for upsets! I'm seeing four"seeded" upsets throughout the whole tournament.

My guess is he/she is picking South Border, I see their vote total just went up. They will have to play their best ball, something they haven't done all year. I do agree that its going to be a fun tournament, can't wait!

Must be, that would explain 3 of the 4 "upsets" over higher seeded teams. I agree with you both that it will be a very fun tourney. Nothing would surprise me.

Will be a fun tourney as most are.

Top 4 contenders are SZ, LHMB, SB, and LLM.

SZ comes in as Dist 6 Champ. A solid club. Move ball well, attack bucket hard, defend pretty well. Very capable of taking Region.

LHMB is ready, as they are about every year, to make a run at Region title. Since 2000, they have won it 6 times, and have been in ship 8 times i believe.

SB is capable of beating anybody in field. They had SZ on ropes for most of game in Dist 6 semis. They let it slip away. Will they put 4 quarters together in this tourney? Once? Twice? 3 times?

LLM is in their 14th straight Region tnmnt. They have been in semis every year but 09. 6 Championship games, and 1 title. They have been in the hunt to win it probly 8-9 times since 2000, but it's happened once. Winning 3 straight is tough in any region. LLM knows it as well as anybody. They will not look past KC.

EKM, Ellendale, KC, and PBK remain. A dark horse or 2 in the list?
EKM will battle LHMB better than they did a month ago I believe. Guard play for EKM critical.

Ellendale must contain MJ and AJ to some extent. White can keep Pinke in check. Ellendale must limit turnovers.

PBK has quickness and a bit of size. Perimeter shooting will need to pick up some from districts. Need to be more consistent on boards than district. Need to be ready to defend Strasburg as they attack rim hard.

KC played LHMB tough in district semis. A 15-2 run from LHMB was their undoing. They did battle back in that game. Will coach Olson not guard a Loboe as he has done 2-3 times in the past? Loboes have won those games, but this is 2013.

Looking forward to games.

I will pick EKM with upset over Linton. But in order for EKM to do this Greer and Madcke will have to play well .
Guard play will be very important in this one.

Some thoughts on tonights games:

SZ over PBK - A solid, controlled win by the Clippers but not the disciplined defensive effort I was expecting. This team will need to play much better in the semi to beat SB.

SB over Ellendale - Too much Michael Jacobson. White with a double double (18 and 11) for the Cards but not nearly enough. Coach Lukens did a very nice job tonight, has the Mustangs in the semis for the first time in awhile, I think. SB is playing well enough right now to beat SZ.

Lamoure LM over Kidder County - Game effort by the Pirates but too much Anthony Olson (21 and 10) and Jared Meiklejohn for the Loboes. How good is your team when possibly your 3rd best player is the District Senior POY? Lamoure has the talent to overcome the Linton hurdle....finally.

Linton HMB over EKM - Rough start for the Rebels, just couldnt come back all that way. Linton's best player doesnt even start for them so they have some depth too. But is it enough for the Loboes?

Tomorrow nights picks:

SB over SZ by 3 or less. Very tough to beat a closely matched team 3 times in a year.
LLM over LHMB by less than 8. This will be a tight contest but I think the Loboes and Coach Thielges are due. LHMB has no one to match up with Olson.

With all EHS's knowledge, he forgot to mention that SZ is playing without one of their better players. One of their starters was in a car accident on Saturday and is out for the season. We pray for a speedy recovery for him.

I actually did know that as I heard about it on Sunday but didn't feel it was my place to mention it on this board out of respect for the family. I personally thank God the young man is ok and wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

From a basketball perspective, I do think the Clippers are deep enough and well coached enough to overcome this loss of a very good player.

Understood, I personally just didn't feel comfortable mentioning it. Also, I'm not sure why it matters so much to you that I didn't.

Best of luck to your team today! I think it is going to be a great game.

coach Kleinsasser mentions it in the Sun article today. Very unfortunate for the player, the family, the team, and the community. Here's to a speedy and full recovery.
