I was at the SB and KC game last night. I saw 2 teams play extremely hard for a 3 seed in their district. SB is overcoming a lot of adversity. These young men are playing together as a team. KC could not match up to their size and talent. MJ is playing more minutes/game, AJ looks like his back is getting better, and Dan S. leg problems are clearing up. Ross K. sprained his ankle in the game. Hopefully it is not bad, he is doing a nice job for SB they need him back soon. Hunter P. is becoming a lot smoother player for a 9th grader. They have good depth on their team.

I also was looking for the short, fat, and bald guy, didn't see him.

SZ handily over Napoleon and LHMB over Central Prairie with ease.

Ellendale with a close win over BCN and LLM by double digits over EKM.

2. LHMB
3. SZ
4. SB
5. EKM
6. KC
7. Ellendale
8. BCN

Steele had 3 starters, a jv, and a jh kid playing and SB barely hung to win, yes South Border is rounding into form!!!!

I was watching the game on bek... I didn't notice any players missing for KC. Does anyone know if they were missing players?

I think all their players where there. Starting 2 seniors, 2 juniors, and 1 sophomore. South Border starts 1 senior, 3 Juniors, and 1 Freshman.

Hey did the 1-13 CP (great job boys, you looked good) beat the same KC team by double digits that SB barely beat the other night or did KC have the "other" kids playing this time? Sorry to respound so late, was in the "cities" having meetings yesterday!! :D

Yes, and it was the same team Linton beat by only 1 a week or 2 ago. Or do you have an excuse for them? Because it seems like you try to find any way possible to bash SB for some reason. They're 9-3 after staring 0-5. Give them a little credit.

Bashing SB? You are very sensitive this AM, either you have a tooth-ache, are pregnant or are hiding something! We are just giving CP credit where credit is due and wishing that your SB team would live up to their "talent potential" just one time, people are sick and tired of hearing ALL and EVERY excuse under our gods given sun for their failures!! That team is at best the biggest underacheivers in the state and the boys need to man up, in all phases of the game, period........if this hurts their feelings I am sorry, it is the truth! Tell "johnson" I will be at the consession stand at halftime in Lamoure on Saturday if he wishes to speak to me, I don't know who the "short, fat bald guy" is but I am taller with a moustache and will have a black cowboy hat on! Good luck and god-speed!!!

Its pretty obvious that Pump hates South Border, therefore any of his comments about SB should be taken with a huge grain of salt. CP has their big man back (Staloch) and I think that helps them defend better and frees up some of their outside shooters. It should all lead up to an entertaining District 6 Tournament in Napoleon.

Everyone is welcome to their opinion, of course.

It is obviously interesting that "Pump" seems to have replaced "Noah's" as the SB round ball antagonist. Given this, one has to wonder what their objective is. But in the overall scheme of things I don't think it really matters.

Back to the R3 discussion, I can absolutely see how getting Staloch back could change things dramatically for CP, freeing up Williams and Eissinger more. Wish I could come out wand watch the D6 tourney as it is going to be very interesting.

D5 will be interesting as well. EKM vs Ellendale and Lamoure LM vs PBK tonight will decide the remaining seeds.

Agreed... CP could be a dangerous team come tournament time

I've never responded here before, I've always been one of the people sitting back and enjoying the predictions, reports and banter. But this time I think I'll weigh in.

Pump, you need to take it easy, these are kids just wanting to play ball, have fun and do the best they possibly can. I'm thinking that we are the one's who set the high expectations for the kids and now we're the same group of people voicing disappointment in them for not meeting those expectations? I would guess that if you visit with them, they would tell you they want to play well, play hard and hopefully produce a victory. I'm sure you could visit any one of the region 3 teams practice facilities and find a good group of kids working hard for their coaches trying to meet everyone's expectations. Can you imagine anything worse than working that hard and walking away from a hard fought loss feeling you let all of us bleacher coaches down? They're hard enough on themselves I'm sure, they most certainly don't need us voicing our disappointment and calling them names like "underachievers" and "failures". We need to show a little more respect and better support for all the kids out there working their butts off trying to produce a "W".

Good stuff sportsfan78, glad you weighed in. The only thing I will add is that we are about to start a brand new season where regular season records dont mean anything beyond District seeding. I guarantee you that teams playing SB are going to be in for a very tough game against a very talented group. I wish all teams well in the post season.

So who is the 1 seed in district 6? Or is that yet to be determined?

Great question, not sure who wins the tiebreaker. If the the first tie breaker is points differential then LHMB will get the # 1 seed as they lost by 10 then won by 13 in their 2 games against SZ this year.

SZ beat LHMB 65 to 55 on December 13th
LHMB beat SZ 56 to 43 on Januray 29th

The number 1 seed in this District is pretty important this year so that you do not have to face the prospect of a potential South Border match up in the semis, which could be a scary proposition.

South Border and LLM play this Saturday. Should be a good matchup. Jacobson vs Thielges should be very fun to watch! It will be interesting how LLM plans to match up with SB's size...On the other hand, it will also be interesting to see how SB can handle LLM 's speed.

Just interested on the conversation on here so I did some research.

South Border's 9 wins have come against 6 different teams with 5 of them being from ND and 1 from MN. Of the teams SB has beaten from ND their combined record is 33-52 with only one win against a team with a winning record (Grant County). I know SB has dealt with injuries and has not been 100% very much this season so I'm not trying to bash them I just found this interesting. It will be a good test against LLM on Saturday to see where they are as a team right now.

Yes, should be a good match up. SB has the size advantage but Olson defends much bigger than he is. Nice "get ready" game for both teams heading into the post seson.

South Border 67 PBK 48 tonight. Sounds like Cole Diede had a heck of a game for the Rebels but not enough to overcome an ever improving South Border squad. Look out for the Mustangs!

If you want to use that rational than you need to look at S-Z, there only win against a team that was over .500 at the time was Linton. (SB is over .500 now but were below .500 both times they lost to them.)
In reality, S-Z is still a very talented team and one to be reckoned with come tournament time. I would be willing to bet that there are a lot of teams in ND Class B who have a majority of their wins against teams with below .500 records.
