Grafton works hard.....they play a little junkie but get away with it because of Hustle.....Galloway and Skibitski weren't going to let last night be a ten point ball game....when Cavalier went up by 10 in the third they called a pansy foul on S. Robbins (with huge influence from the coach) and Grafton closed the gap.

I found it interesting Droogy (nice player) had no fouls

Cavalier will need better outside shooting to make it to State .....They will need to take care of the ball better and rebound ....Spencer has to make the bunnies underneath & Johnson has to gain a bit more confidence (almost there) and lead his team, direct traffic, call out the plays and take control.
its going to be good... :D congrats to NB on their win over MM

Come tournament time, when 70 point games are rare, I think D-V-E or Griggs County could be a tough out. Yep, Cavalier and Grafton are the favorites (in no particular order) but Griggs has consistent scoring and is patient enough on offense to find a great shot each time up the court. D-V-E sometimes looks just ready to hang 90 points on the scoreboard. And both teams make their free throws.
I think either team could upset either of the big two. Who is gonna play the strongest defense without fouling? Who is deep enough - or conditioned enough - to play three solid games defensively over the regional tourney?

I just do not believe that Griggs County has played that many teams that play stellar defense. Grafton plays good solid defense and they are active up top. They can press, and have a couple of good reserves to come off the bench. However, Cavalier is the 3rd ranked defense in the state for allowing points per game. I believe if you go to the columns that run has provided it shows that they are giving up an average of 44.8 points a game. Now you mentioned DVE, for ability to score, grafton, rugby, also can score. Rugby being highly ranked in the state and backing it up, were held to mid forties when they played cavalier. I believe griggs has the consistant scoring do to playing a weaker district schedule. Yes they did beat DVE, but I still think DVE beat themselves more in that game! I guess we will see when the regions get started.

I don't think Cavalier can hang around very long. North Star 66 - Cavalier 48. Cavalier might have a shot if they can hold the score to the low 50's, but I don't think they can.

I would disagree with GCC as the favorite. HCV beat them by 10 at GCC. Trouble with HCV is their inconsistency, but they have Hurt back and healthy. If they make smart decisions on the floor, they win this district.

I see 3 or 4 possible options as district champs in this district: H-CV, GCC, Larimore, MPCG (in that order).

I just see this district as a wide open district. I'm not sold on GCC and H-CV is the more talented team.

Cavalier
Grafton
D-VE
M-M

now the order could switch...Cavalier has the easier "road" to regionals after winning the coin flip and getting the #1 seed. Grafton vs. D-VE in the semifinals will be an interesting matchup.

My Predictions
District 3
Larimore over MPCG
GCC over Thompson
DP over H-N

H-N over Thompson
H-CV over Larimore
GCC over DP

RQ: MPCG over DP
RQ: Larimore over H-N
Title: H-CV over GCC

Seeds: #1: H-CV; #2: GCC; #3: Larimore; #4: MPCG

District 4
M-M over PR-FL
D-VE over NB

Cavalier over M-M
Grafton over D-VE

RQ: M-M over NB
RQ: D-VE over PR-FL
Title: Grafton over Cavalier (close like all other matchups)

Seeds: #1: Grafton; #2: Cavalier; #3: D-VE; #4: M-M

Solid predictions, Run. Can't argue with any of them. You are right, this is a wide open Region. I'd say Grafton and Cavalier are probably one step above the rest of the field, but not enough ahead that they are upset-proof.

Grafton on the their home court, should be a 10 point favorite.....
but with that said the Tornadoes will be focused and will know how going to the Betty as a #1 does matter...its all good!

I'm taking DVE in a blowout.
I'm taking MM because of Shane.
I'll take Grafton in a close one, because of leadership...but man do I want Cav to take this one 8)
