StraightShooter wrote:The no-call at the end of the MV/CC game was a good no-call. Hasleau was already falling over before Ueland hit him. It's a moot point because, as other posters have mentioned, free throws would not have been shot. And the 0.3 seconds was an absolute gift to begin with.
I'm curious as to why some posters think Roesler got outcoached last night. Was it because he told his players to make only 2 FTs in the second half and shoot less than 40% from the line? Was it because he told his guards to miss 3 consecutive layups late in the game? Or was it because he had players in foul trouble the entire game? The last play he drew up seemed to work.
Wow straightshooter you need to open your eyes and see the real game not what you want to see. Ive seen the replay of the last play for MV that never got called and by no means did Haseleau take a flop. Terrible call by the refs, a foul is a foul no matter of how much time is on the clock. Maple Valley was team that was in foul trouble the whole game, once again I would like to know what game you were watching. MV made CC play the type if game they had to play to win. Thats what we mean by being outcoached. CC never once got into the type of game they played all year.

Ethan Feil scored the first 2 points for DC and more importantly the last 2.

Topcop4,
Enough already. The game is over. What replay camera did you see? Where was it located? If it was right where the ref was standimg, fine. I'm guessing it was not. Haselau was falling over before contact. Just stop Bresnahan and we wouldn't be having this discussion. MV played great and CC played just ok. Just ok was good enough to win. Time to move on.

I'm pretty sure that with .3 or less it has to be a tip play. It could be just less then .3, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
Just to clarify this rule.
http://www.leaguelineup.com/nwayba/file ... 20Book.pdfThis is directly out of the NFHS rule book. "When play is resumed with a throw-in or free throw and three tenths (.3) of a second or less remains on the clock, a player may not gain control of the ball and try for a field goal. In this situation only a tap could score."

topcop4 even if it would have been called no free throws would have been awarded, they just start over.

Actually, free throws would have been awarded. The newly written rule is worded in a way that causes confusion. The actual rule is if the ball is being in-bounded/the ball is not in play and the offesive player commits a foul (push off, moving screen, etc), the defense would not be rewarded free throws if it was a bonus situation. If the defense commits a foul (holding, plowing through a screen, etc), the offensive team is STILL awarded free throws if it is a bonus situation. That part of the rule has not changed.
