One of the easiest statements to make is "that team isn't that good". LaMoure guys probably as grounded as any group of young men could be. Polls mean nothing to their coaching staff and I'm sure kids too. They have no choice but to play the schedule an AD made for them. What they have done is won every game so far by 13-27 points. 9-0

They will have a couple nice tests in Hatton-Northwood and Heart River over break. Loss might not hurt them. They are not a team to go out and "wow" anybody. They will defend hard, can push a bit, and can match up size and physicallity with many.

Loboes good example of a team that will play tails off whether 0 losses or 3 or 5 or 6. Might be a tough club to beat late in season if u run into them. To underestimate them might or might not be a good idea.

How does HN get in with 3 losses? FW-M Has 3 losses to top ten teams and a class A team and cant even get a vote.

Yeah I have to agree...kind of a snub to both Rugby and Hazen who have beaten whats been put in front of them.

I would guess it is because there 3 losses were to #2 or 3 Grafton when playing without the Pederson's, then to Ada, Min. who probablly would have won the N.D. State B tourney two of the last 3 years, and to #3 LaMoure on the road.

They have not played as well as I thought they would, but if there is such a thing as a quality loss, they have 3...

Don't be shock to see New Town fall out after losing last week. I felt like they were only ranked because they were undefeated.

I think berthold and trinity switch and then Hazen and Grafton switch. I just think if you r undefeated u should deserve more credit then the teams with losses. Also why I think if Beulah even stays on they should be at 10 and Grafton at 9 but that's just my opinion I know that's not how its gonna be.

In My Opinion:

First, Hazen finally beat a notable team in Beulah; however I do agree they could be one spot up (and so could Bottineau).

Grafton lost to North Star so their strength of schedule helps them in being ranked higher. (however, I would have put them #8 instead of #6).

Beulah's two losses are to undefeated teams in North Star and Hazen so this helps keep them ranked in the Top 10.

This will sort itself out as the season progresses. Hazen could be a spot or two higher and I think LaMoure is a bit over-rated but undefeated. From the games I've seen, both Hazen and a healthy Grafton team are better than LaMoure. Tough to leave the undefeatededs out of the top spots until they get beat.

Hard to beleive the writers who vote in the poll can't see FW-M as a top ten team or even get a vote. I guarentee to you, if there's a team in the state the people in Cando don't want to see, it's the Indians. This is a different team that lost to NS by 3 in december. They should see each other in the region 4 championship game.

North Star is also a different team than they were in December. Not saying that they would for certain beat FW-M, but BOTH teams played a bad game that night.

I have the same feeling although LaMoure is undefeated they have had a pretty easy scheduale even though they beat a couple or very tough teams in H/N and H/R. Their biggest tasks are behind them. and they will more thn likely stay at the three spot or maybe drop a couple but will stay up only because i feel they will finish out the regular season undefeated

Of the 10 teams in the most recent poll, LaMoure has played the sixth strongest schedule. Source: http://www.ndrpi.com

Interesting site. The one stat I didn't understand is the EWP (Expected Winning %) as some teams have an expected winning % either higher or lower than what they could actually achieve. Maybe I'm interpreting it wrong. EX: Team has EWP of 840 yet they are 7-7 - impossible to get that high even if they run table and win state. Also saw other teams EWP as low as 002 but they already had a couple or three wins. Please explain this formula. Also - just for curiousity's sake - Is Run the man behind the site? I've always wondered how you get all the info you get??????

The EWP is derived from a formula that attempts to determine if a team is doing better or worse than expected. If the actual winning percentage is greater than the EWP, the team is overachieving or has good luck. Likewise, if the actual winning percentage is lower than the EWP, they are underachieving or have bad luck. In other words, the EWP isn't where they're expected to be at the end of the season. It's about where they're expected to be right now. It's only a formula, though, so don't take it too seriously.

Run isn't behind the website, but he is kind enough to help submit scores and corrections.

Thanks SCC - that makes a lot more sense to me now. Appreciate it.
