The Alerus Center and the Fargodome are horrible places to watch a BB game and neither town appreciates the Class B fans and all the money they bring in for the weekend. Bismarck and Minot have always welcomed the people from the small towns and seem to enjoy hosting the tournaments, Fargo and Grand Forks act like they are doing us a favor by "allowing" us to come to their city for the weekend. JMO.

Oak Grove didn't manage the clock very well towards the end and put up some quick shots. Hope all the games are as exciting as this one, going to make for a great tournament.

and the foul call on Hettich's steal was pure anticipation.

Agreed. Terrible call.

The games were covered and photos of game are present plus box score. I did look at Bismarck and Minot on line coverage and they only covered their regional teams. Also few side stories as well. They also had coverage of UND basketball, MN State Hockey Tournaments, MN high school basketball so they have been busy. I was surprised by Minot site they usually cover the State b for entire state they were covering it like Herald does when tournament is held out west. I guess media doesn't realize that interest in class b is more state wide than they believe for a lot of fans.

I also noticed the NBA three point line coming into play...I think the numerous calls of guys stepping out of bounds in almost the same spot were caused by this...I guess they are so used to spotting up behind the three line and the room they used to have. Also I saw a few shots taken from behind that deep arc that I doubt were intended.
To me the day session lacked a electricity, until Flasher got back in it...didn't get much of a vibe from the Cav/L HMB game either. It seemed really wide open and fans seemed distant...Night was a bit better, looked like a lot more fans. I was also more personally vested into the outcomes of the night games, so that could be why it was more electric.
And yes the B should not be played there until they get a scoreboard over the court.

The actual size of the paper has also decreased over the years. Minot can no longer afford to send someone to Forks to cover the tourney.
What I wish the dailies would do is sell online subscriptions to their websites. The technology to do so has been around for several years now. If they don't want to make the whole website restricted to subscribers only, then have a free site that gives headlines and an opening paragraph, then to see the rest of the story you would need a subscription. ESPN does it with their "IN" content where premium content is only visible to subscribers.
Seems to me that this would add revenue for the dailies and they might be able to add some staff to get the kind of coverage we all would like to see.
