My observations from the first 2 games...
Volk and Bussman are a couple of really nice players that I think have good potential at the next level. Bussman should be an early favorite for Mr. BB from Class B. Wyatt Mund, not sure if he plays football but he should he's got the height, build, and speed to play at the next level. Olson is crazy athletic for a sophomore, if his skill catches up with his athleticism scary to think how dominant he might be in the next 2 years

Both games were fun to watch, but its time for an upgrade KVLY (480p, we meet again)

All the teams have played well thus far, hats off to all the kids and coaches

I think tonight's bracket wins state, the winner of rugby FW is favorite now.

I wish I could say I did but I didn't. I am enjoying it though. Great to see hard working, good kids shine on a big stage. Especially since they were both underrated. Just a cool story!

What killed Trinity was their big kids getting in foul trouble. That changed their whole style of play and it became the Volk show. Really surprised their guards were so poor. Wasn't expecting that. Love Volk's game though and really wanted the game tier to go down so we could see some more of that one.

Can someone from Milnor be exciting besides Mund? Seriously, I thought the layup only rule stopped after 5th grade. Who ever told me Bussman was a guard was mistaken. Aside from bringing the ball up the floor, he barely left the post. I was really hoping he'd be more entertaining than that. And someone just shoot a 3, they're worth more. But for real, congrats Wyatt Mund, you out-athleticismed your way to the state semifinals.

Gotta give Shiloh credit for showing up big, but please don't think that's the Shiloh team you saw all year. They played out of their minds in that first half. They cooled down a lot more in the 2nd half.

Theigles for Lamoure was clutch. Did he even score in the first half? He carried them down the stretch. Who was 22 for them? Was it the younger Theigles? He had some real big buckets down the stretch too.

All in all, two very quality games to start off the tournament. Lamoure and Trinity both looked far better than Milnor and Shiloh in my opinion. I'm just hoping to see two more games like that tonight.

The day games setup a semifinal that should be competitive.. Based on today's games and the Loboes early season win over Milner.(Barnes County tourney) Lamoure Loboes to the ship. 55 51. Didn't see Milner make anything outside of ten ft but Mund athleticism hopefully keeps it close.

MILNOR can definitely shoot from outside...There offense is set up for close shots but they are capable of hitting some outside shots.

From what I saw Bussman handled the ball better than most guards in the tournament, but it's better for his team to stay down low. I've never seen him play before, but it looked like he had an off night and still ended up with 17. I agree L-LM looked like the better team, but I think Milnor will have the 2 best players on the court so it should be close

LaMoure-LM def. Milnor 61-51 on a neutral court (VCSU). That game was played in early December before Milnor got things going.

Not saying they can't, just didn't see any outside shooting from them in the quarterfinal. Too many layups for me which is great but not typical when 2 evenly matched teams play.

Wow I didn't like that final play call or shot attempt...they had time to get a better one than that.

You call a timeout and the best you can come up with is a 25ft heave; the best thing about that shot was the chance of getting a rebound.. Great game both ways!

Trenton did a good job defensively though...they weren't worried about that player being that far away on the in-bounds and they didn't have anyone guarding the ball...so they were double teaming the main threats. That's why the only option Cavalier had was the guy standing at half court. Smart decision by Trenton's coach if you ask me...

Need to make sure you tell you kids get something going to the hoop...he had time to turn that into a 15 footer...yes I know easy to say watching....just thought they ended on a poor possession.

FW has a lot of talent, but they don't play very smart. They should win this game handily, but their turnovers and dumb fouls could spell their doom.
