No, he coached Junior High girls in Grafton. He has coached in the Grand Forks school district. In college, he worked as a Grad Assistant for the Jamestown College Girls Basketball team. He also played at Jamestown College. He has been putting a lot of time in working with the student/athletes from the Wishek/Ashley area. I think the guy deserves a little more credit.

Easy SCCCCC! I dont see anyone on here calling him out...looks to me like people are trying to figure out some more info and what the guy likes to run...maybe you could help them out
It is a little harder to motivate kids I guess because they’ve been pampered so much. We’re in the trophy generation, give ‘em a trophy for 23rd place, make ‘em feel good. Make mom and dad feel good.” Tom Izzo, Michigan State Basketball

He will do a good job down there I'm sure. Didn't his old man play at UND?

I had not heard that Duke had moved over to CP. Interesting. I think Brett Williams will have a nice year for the Firebirds. Big strong kid with good feet and nice range.

LLM will certainly be a different type team losing two monsters inside in Zach Stemen and Logan Shockman but how much so remains to be seen. They have a handful of quality guards and a bunch of quick, athletic kids do I assume they will want to get out and run more. Good news is we will know for sure very soon as the season is upon us.

Here is my 2 cents
1 South Border
2 EKM
3 Linton HMB
4 LaMoure lm
5 PBK
6 Napoleon
7 BCN
8 Strausburg
9 Central Prairie
10 Kidder County
11 Ellendale

EKM and South Border play right out of the gate I truly think EKM is much deeper then alot of people think and could be the big surprise this year.

I agree that EKM could be in the mix. They do have some depth and 3 very good seniors. I wouldn't sleep on them either.

EKM over SB 57 to 51

Not terribly shocked by this, EKM is a talented bunch and SB is missing M. Jacobson and are under a new coach, so I am sure they are still working some things out. As previously thought, EKM will be a force to be reckoned with in Region 3 this season.

He must of had a pretty big tear to his meniscus. I've learned quite a bit about those injuries in the past 2 months.

Not sure of the nature or extent. Hope he makes it back soon, for his senior year. Special player,

Either South Border is really missing Jacobson, or they aren't all they've been hyped up to be. Or both. Either way good win for ellendale.

Ellendale did not finish regulation well, with a 5 point lead inside a minute. Sailer hit a pretty jumper at the buzzer to tie it up. Was impressed that Ellendale came back from that with a strong OT showing.

South Border certainly misses Michael who we all know is very good and has been their go to guy for the past three years, Sounds like he will be back after Christmas.

Adam Jacobson played pretty well tonight, as did #24, Kretchmar, who lit it up from 3 point range. Im sure no one is panicking in Ashley or Wishek, they are going to be fine and will be in the mix at the end of the year but cant currently be considered the favorite at this point with how good Lamoure looks.

Ellendale has a lot of work to do but it is nice to start off with a win coming off a tough 2011-12 campaign.

Going to be a fun year in Region 3.

I agree with most of your analysis but I'm sure people are getting a little restless, it is after all small town class b, best of luck to them on getting their ship back on course!

Good point as always Schwab. Hope they get the ship righted.

Lamoure LM vs Napoleon tonight will be an interesting match up, I think. That LLM press could be a difference maker for them all year.

Correction. Game has been postponed.

Its not how you play at the beginning of the season...its how you play at the end that matters!

first off Run, you are 100 percent right, it matters how you play at the end of the year! I was at the game last night so I'll share my insight. SB looked like a trainwreck last night. However, so did Linton last year the first 5 games of the year. When Jacobson gets back this will be a whole new team offensivly. The big thing I thought was so bad for SB was their deffense. Linton scored 69 points, had many uncontested shots, WIDE OPEN looks, and in my opinion let up offensivly the whole fourth quarter. Mike will help SB a lot offensivly but I dont know how much he will help them deffensivly. Pinkie played ok and is a very good player for a freshman, also adam jacobson played ok. However, they are missing a leader big time and I dont know if Mike is that leader. He is a very talented player and their best player by far but best player is a lot different than leader. When Mike returns I see SB improving a lot and jumping up to one of the top teams in the region. However, deffense and leadership may hold them back from punching their tickets to state, also Lamoure looked darn good when I watched them play. It will be interesting to see how this region turns out late february.
