Never saw this one coming... Justin did a great job at Red River! they have good kids coming up, their Sophomore and JV teams were the best in the EDC, so the cubbard is not empty.

Kent Riplinger will do a great job at Red River, his JV teams have always been good! He knows how to coach. He does have a daughter coming up and she is pretty good, Parents... leave him alone and let him coach!!

There has been talk on this site about other coaches who have quit or got asked to quit because of conflicts with coaching their daughters. I think that is always a concern. It can be hard for the dad and the daughter both. I would guess that the GF AD addressed this before hiring Ripplinger.

What is going on with Red River this year? Last year I think their Soph and JV teams went undefeated and the Varsity was also very good. Does anyone have any thoughts or information?

They lost 4 of their 5 starters to graduation and a key bench player. They have also lost 3 really close games. It is a rebuilding year. There are sophomores and juniors starting or playing this year that never really got any playing time on varsity last year. The speed and level of play at the varsity level is different from JV!
