I had a friend at work tell me that meghan was announced by ESPN to be the top recruit in North Dakota as a junior. Does anyone have any info on this statement? Is there a website a person can look at ?

ESPN's girls recruiting site is www.hoopgurlz.com. Currently the only ND player listed is Kelsey Peltier.

Meghan scored 35 pts against Shanley Tuesday night in a 83-65 win! the 35 pts was a new school record breaking her own record of 34 set last year.

how to shut down meghan roehrich=put noel scherer on her, clearly meghan doesnt like to be pushed around. yes she did have 22 pts against north but most of it was at the foul line. ive never seen meghan so frustrated.

Umm...getting points from the FT line is how all great players score. She shoots her normal FT percentage, she gets 30 points. I guess that now qualifies as shutting her down.

how can you say noel shut her down! COME ON!! She averages 23.1 points per game game! i guess scoring 22 means she was shut down ! HA!! she shot 21 free throws! which she made 12 of. she shoots 80 percent from the line, she just had a bad night at the line and she still put up 22!! Thats what great players do is get to the charity stripe. You cant stop her you can only contain her! if anything the pessure got to her, not noel! Put her at the line 10 times at the end of the game like that and she will finish on 9 of them! the most prolific scorer in the state of ND!

Looks like Miss Basketball for 2011. I think she is only a junior.

What about Caitlyn Farroh? Over 25 points and 20 rebounds a game, when I last looked.

Farroh is good but I really think her rebounding stats are inflated. I think she slipped to about 20 points. She is now behind Roehrich in scoring. Farroh runs the floor well is one of the only true posts in the EDC so that helps her numbers. Meghan creates most of her scoring opportunities herself. Is averaging over 7 rebounds, over 4 assisists and steals per game. This junior class is loaded with talent but I think that Meghan is the best player.

That's phenominal. Throw in Sasha Golus from Turtle Mt and class A will have a strong group of nominees next year.

Elshaugh has played in 13 games - 243/13 = 18.7ppg

Roehrich has played in 10 games -230/10 = 23.0ppg

Therefore, leading scorer in the state.

Elshaugh is a good player from Devils Lake, but Meghan is alot better basketball player. If you get the chance to watch her , do it. She has the ability to put up 30 plus points in every game she plays in. Possibly 40 points is in her reach. With her on the court she gives her team an average of 30 plus per game with her points, rebounds, assists and steals. There has been one player that was able to contain her this year so far, and that was Buck from century. They will both play with each other along with Burck in college at UND.

I understand where you are coming from but just for argumentative sake let’s say the season is over.

Jane Doe has played 3 games - 70/3 = 23.3ppg

Roehrich has played in 10 games - 230/10 = 23.0ppg

Who would be the leading scorer? Is it based on average or total points scored?

it is based on average....Jane Doe would be the leading scorer.

Based on average, but the player must score at least 180 points, or play in 80% of the games is how I think it goes.

Is this the same concept they use for all time leading scorer.

Re: Meghan Roehrich

by balla45
No. All time leading scorer comprises a player's entire career. Using points per game would not make sense in this case, because a 4 or 5 year varsity player's points per game would be significantly lower than a 1 or 2 year varsity player in most cases.
