Hoopster is out. What does everyone think about the Power Poll?

1. Century
2. Fargo South
3. Turtle Mountain
4. G.F. Red River
5. Bismarck
6. G.F. Central
7. Mandan
8. Fargo Shanley

Does anybody else think Dickinson should've made it in the top 8?

I think back to the State Tourney from this last spring and I am very curious about the East this fall. I know South will be good. Tell me about the other teams from the East. Will they be able to match up with the West? Or am I just thinking more highly of the West than I should be?!

The West really should be strong, especially if Turtle Mountain can win on the road.

I heard Goulus tore her ACL...not sure on confirmation yet though.

I would also put Central above Red River.

Sasha Golus is OK. It was a mild knee sprain. I hear she is training every day.

Sasha is fine. Belcourt will be better this year then last year. They got a transfer in from Dunseith that can handle the ball. I know that was their biggest let down last year. They should be fun to watch as long as parents stay out of the coaches way. That is a huge problem over there. I hope they do good.

Thanks for the vote of confidence "Dunseith Runners". Yes, Belcourt should be better than last year. We all know that the Dunseith transfer was originally from Belcourt and just went there( Dunseith) to run alongside the top notch runner, Shayla Counts, in her quest for a CC championship. But, she decided to return to Belcourt for basketball. The backcourt in Belcourt was young last year. They weren't that bad. In fact they were pretty good. They are even better this year. Davis will be able to provide assistance, just as she did this summer in the Wisconsin team tournament that the team attended. The majority of the parent problems from last year have moved on. Not a huge problem. Don't overdramatize it. Parent problems exist everywhere. Don't they? By the way, good luck at state CC. I hear that Counts is ranked 2nd right now. She may win it all!

Shayla is pretty determined and works her tail off. We hope to get 2 into the top 8. Chandra Yankton is a 8th grader and will hold her own with all the upper classmen. I wish Davis would have stayed here, she would have helped out our CC team bigtime. I hope they do good and represent our area well...

Belcourt girls were very good last season. The girl from Dunseith wasnt their biggest let down either. They were fine without her but having her back will help a little with handling the ball. Parisien is a very good ball handler as well. She was a very big help last season. We shall see when the time comes.

Looks good to me. I think Century could run the table for an undefeated season if they don't have an early let down. Let's see what Ron can do now that he has had his system in place for a couple of years.

Century is a pretty good team, but I don't think that they'll go undefeated. They did lose in team camp this past summer to South and they lost last year to Belcourt. I don't much about South, but I know Belcourt is bringing back the same team that beat Century last year. It should be interesting.
