Mandan has some freshmen/sophomore players coming up that are excellent.

Anyone seen freshman Allie Albrecht from Wahpeton, yes Wahpeton, play this summer? Keep your eyes on her.

Shes gonna be Miss Basketball. Belcourt has a girl. Bismarck has a couple. Mandan should be the favorite through.

Mandan has an excellent Freshman class. They have a couple freshman that will see varsity time. Mandan has a really good feeder program that moves players up. We'll have to wait and see if their new coach has the same philosophy. I imagine he would since he was the assistant for many years.

It's harder for Bismarck because they can't move girls up until they are freshman so its difficult to see how they would perform at a higher level. Plus BHS has a new coach again so we'll have to see if he moves up any girls.

Shaiyann Davis from Belcourt will be someone to watch starting this year. She is a sophmore this year and has a very nice handle. She has wonderful court-vision which should bode well for Belcourts bigs. Belcourt has another nice young player. Whitney Wallette is a freshman this year and she has a year of varsity expirience. She is about 5' 10" - 6' something like that. She can shoot, drive and has a decent handle on her already. She will get better as she gets stronger.

Turtle Mt. has several good young players i.e. Marcellais, Parisien, Short, Wallette, and others. They will all contribute along with the upperclass players to make Turtle Mt. successful. It should be nice for Turtle Mt. to get Davis back after her short stint with Dunseith. I've seen her play and it looks like she's adjusting just fine to Class "A" style of ball again. She will be able to help out.

She isn't upcoming. She is a returning all state senior committed to a D1. Great player, but not what this topic is about.

I wouldn't say she has amazing defense or a great ball handler. Just thought she had potential and was better than the girl they had starting. Forgot her name.... Jeske or Jenkins..... not sure.
