The 2009 North Dakota Shrine Bowl and Lions All-Star Basketball Games to be Televised

Steele, N.D. – July 13, 2009 - The 2009 North Dakota Shrine bowl will air LIVE statewide on Saturday, July 18, 2009 from the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, N.D. BEK Sports of Steele, N.D., in agreement with the North Dakota Shrine Bowl, will be broadcasting both the 11-man and 9-man games.

The two games are scheduled with an East vs. West format. Kickoff for the 11-man game will be at 4:00 p.m. with the 9-man game to follow at 7:00 p.m. Players will report to practice on July 12th with the West teams at NDSU in Fargo, N.D. and the East teams at UND in Grand Forks, N.D.
Additionally, the Lions All-Star Basketball Games will air LIVE on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from the Bismarck Civic Center in Bismarck, N.D. and on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from the Fargo Civic Center in Fargo, N.D.

The four games are set up in a Class A vs. Class B format with both boys and girls basketball. Tip off for both the Bismarck and Fargo locations will be the girls’ games at 6:00 p.m. with the boys’ games to follow at 8:00 p.m.

BEK Sports has partnered with twelve cable providers across the state of North Dakota. The six games will be broadcast to approximately 180,000 households across the state! This is the first time these games will be broadcast live to an audience of this magnitude.

Partnering cable providers that will be televising the events include:

• Cable One of Fargo, N.D. – Channel 44
• Dakota Central Telecommunications of Carrington, N.D. – Channel 17
• Dickey Rural Networks of Ellendale, N.D. – Channel 7
• Halstad Telephone Company of Halstad, M.N. (Shrine bowl only) – Channel 33
• Midcontinent Communications of Bismarck, Grand Forks, Devils Lake, Minot, Williston, and West Fargo, N.D. – Channel 23
• Midstate Telephone Company of Stanley, N.D. – Channel 2
• North Dakota Telephone Company of Devils Lake, N.D. – Channel 38
• Polar Communications of Park River, N.D. – Channel 24
• Reservation Telephone of Parshall, N.D. – Channel 99
• SRT Communications of Minot, N.D. – Channel 12
• United Communications of Langdon, N.D. – Channel 17

Hats off to BEK, it'll be great to watch the Lions Basketball games on TV! What a great service to so many communities!

I don't about the rest of the cities, but the game is NOT being televised as of right now on Midcontinent in Minot?????

It was disappointing. They didn't start televising the game until there was only about 10 minutes left in the first half. But it is great that they are putting it on TV!
You miss 100% of all shots you don't take!
