State Matchups

How do the teams matchup?

The best game should be Jamestown and Fargo South. Any predictions?

If you call South by 20 a good game. Then yes, this will be a good game. Mandan big over RR. Century big over West Fargo. I think Bismarck-DL will be close with Bismarck winning.

Mandan big over GFRR
Century big over WF
Bismarck over devils lake (by 15)

South over Mandan
bismarck over century

South over bismarck by about 8

It's a hard road for South. First Jamestown, then Mandan, then Bismarck/Century. The only good game first round with be South/Jamestown. Semi's will all be good games. Bismarck/Century have been close all year.

South plays with more composure than most of the other teams out there. If they keep it together during the tourney they will be able to beat Jamestown just like the other teams.

I don't know if Jamestown will have enough firepower for South. They can get hot though and they did upset them 2 yrs ago so I suppose anything can happen come tournament time. Bismarck on the other hand played South without 3 starters, Feeney, Buechler and Sturglauson so I'd expect that to be closer than the first game. Century is playing pretty well right now and Mandan is always tough come tournament time. Should be a fun tournament to watch.

All im going to say is just like the WDA predictions, mandans having a down year, but don't count them out most of those girls on that team have more big game experience then any other team in the state. Also it doesn't hurt having amundson there. He always has his girls ready for big games.
its okay.....

South looked good. I thought Mandan would have beat RR by more.

Both teams turned to their defense to win the first round. GFRR made a lot of great shots but turned over the ball way too much which is a credit to Mandan's defense, and Jamestown simply could not overcome South's 20-0 run in the 1st half. It should be a great semi final game!

Has anyone heard how Nikki Huelsman from Century is doing after the collision at the Mandan/Century game?

they took her to the hospital and gave her some medicine for the pain but she will be fine. She had a concusion and a bad head ache but her parents took her home that night.

Glad that she is okay, and congratulations to Huelsman and Bismarck Century for a strong finish in the state tournament. They will be very strong next year.
