Does anyone know anything about the other teams? What are Mandan's chance?

Oregon City HS is ranked #3 in last US/CNN HS basketball poll. They are in Mandan's backet and could meet in the semi finals. There is a team from the state of Washington which is ranked #17 in the opposite bracket. The Energy Classic is one of serveral elite HS basketball tournament in the nation and if Mandan does not do well this year, they may not be invited back next year! They won this tournament last year and that is why they are in this tournament this year!

I think they were invited because they have been state champions 5 years in a row. Idaho lost last year and I saw they were invited back.

Invitational tournaments are usually based on how they did in the state tournament, not how they did at their tournament. Someone has to loose when you have a bunch of state champions in your tournament. Minneapolis, Phoenix, also have big invitational tournaments. We need to have more ND teams competing and representing us at these tournaments. GO ND!!!

It's time to think beyond just what we do within the state but how as a state we can compete.

Win, lose or draw this will be very good for the local teams. Top notch competition. I checked out the Florida teams website on the girls bracket. They look REAL tough too! A private school that basically recruits for sports....

Does anyone know if these games will be on the radio dial? Or a website to check for updates?

I don’t think a lot of people appreciate how good some of our North Dakota girls are. Some of the ECI teams this summer hung with or beat most of the select teams out there on a national scale.

Way to go Mandan!
