How well will they match up against each other?

I am going to say BHS by 12...South just doesn't have the experience it needs to beat them.

I agree - BHS will pressure South into alot of turnovers and that will be the difference in this game.

Hoping for a South win but with Bismarck being loaded this could be a 20 point win for Bismarck at this point of the season with a rematch being closer.

I think South will handle the pressure. The have a decent guard. It will come down to the post players and BHS will dominate. BHS by 15.

Anybody with any insights on the 21 point Bismarck win? Was about what most expected. When does the first poll come out?

From what I hear South didnt shoot very well in the first half, 20% and BHS dominated the inside game. The South posts had a very tough time with the more physical and talented Bismarck players. South played them even in the second half but 20 pts down is to big a deficit to make up. People have to remember that South is very young with only two seniors that play very much, they will get better as the season goes on. Bismarck High is the best team in the state.

This was in the Fargo South web page about the game

Bruins drop first game of the year

Fargo South was out of synch nearly the entire game offensively, and dropped a 70-49 loss to a very good Bismarck High team in the Demon gym on Saturday afternoon. For the second straight game, the Bruins started slowly and found themselves trailing at halftime. The Bruins shot a miserable 20% in the first half, managing only 5 field goals offensively and had no answer for the inside power of the Demons. Amy Stroup was the only bright spot offensively for the Bruins as she scored 7 of her 9 points before the half, but continued to battle foul trouble for the second night in a row. Siri Burck continued to play steady at the point guard spot as she ran the show against the tough Bismarck pressure. In the second half, the Bruins tried to mount a couple of different runs, cutting the lead to 14 or 15 points a number of times, but the Demons always had an answer and kept the Bruins from stringing together a major run. Bismarck scored inside when they needed to and cruised to the 21 point win. South was led by Siri Burck and Amy Stroup, who each chipped in 9 points. The loss drops the Bruins to 1-1 on the season. South opens up EDC play on Tuesday night when they host #5 Red River.
