North Dakota Preps

No one can sleep on Minot this year. They had double digit leads in the 2nd half in their losses to Bismarck and TM. They were also tied with WF with 2:00 remaining. But you can point to one factor why they lost those games.

They only have 8 players on the team.

It is curious as to why they don't dress more players for varsity.

Minot currently has 15 players Senior thru Soph. on the roster able to play from their entire school. 1 senior; 5 jr; 9 soph. Rather sad from the largest school in the state. You can form your own conclusions as to why. At this rate, they'll have to start recruiting from Ryan to have a team next year!!!!

I heard from an inside source that magnuson told players to not try-out because they had no chance to make the team. Which is very sad indeed.

P.S. I wouldn't mind some Ryan players.

Did they get into foul trouble in the Bismarck or TM games, or are they out of shape? I agree that 8 is not a lot for a full roster, but most teams only play 7 or 8 a game.

Two starters fouled out in the TM game.

Minot only scores 18 pts in whole game vs. Century? Century that good?

Yes...Century is very good this year!

I didn't go to the game, but I read that it was a really sloppy game by both teams. Minot had 25 TO and Century had 19. Askvig only played a couple minutes in the second half. Minot went 1-14 from 3. The Majettes actually played pretty good defense, but didn't make any shots. 47 points is Centurys lowest output of the season.

I agree that Minot just struggled. Century is good, not good enough to hold a team to 18. Class A is really down this year. The BHS-CHS matchup is about the only interesting matchup before State.
