You could change the name of this topic to WHO WILL TAKE 3rd at state because Bismarck and Mandan are 20 points per game better than everyone this year.

I think Minot could beat any team out east. They had a very good Sophmore and Junior class last year.

Do not underestimate North or South

I agree with retiredbballer on that one. Both of those two teams may be losing many seniors but they have other players that can step up. I wouldn't be suprised if either of those teams upset many higher seeds next season.

Although North will not be deep they are returning syverson and schnabel two all edc players, and south will have poss, nicklaus and lloyd returning. Both are big schools and cannot see them missing state.

i also would like to ask the question of why people are putting shanley so high in the rankings?

Because Jacobson is an all state player a sophmore. Kids a stud. Strom was also a very good player as a freshman. I also heard things about them having a good post that was either a freshman or sophmore.

Correct me if i am wrong. Davies as the number 1?!?!? thats just down right crazy, i can see where they may be 4 or 5, but there is not way they can be above shanley/RR/West Fargo.

How did the Grand Forks Team Camp go on the 11th? Anyone know? Heard Minot, Red River, Devils Lake, Central,West Fargo were some of the class teams?

Shanley and West Fargo lost quite a bit to graduation (WF especially). Shanley will still reload since they have Jacobson and Strom. The one thing Davies has going for them is the fact that they DON'T lose anyone.

My predictions:

1. Red River
2. Davies
3. Shanley
4. South
5. WF
6. Wahpeton
7. North
8. VC
9. Central
10. Devils Lake

South will probably be better than wf, but they will not beat wahpeton. Wahpeton returns pretty much everyone from last year when they had a pretty good year and also were one win away from making it to state and south won't have one player who played significant minutes last year. As for shanley they only have two good players and thats it.

It is silly to make comments that Red River and Whapeton will win the edc. People look foolish when they make these comment and the teams don't make state. North, South, and WF seem to have the best programs.

They all lost A LOT of players though...however, I don't trust any Wahpeton predictions either. Red River should be pretty solid next year.

1.Red River, their team is very good they play as a team
2.Davies, they didn't loose anybody Andrew will lead their team
3.South, Paxton and Colton lloyd are very good ball handlers Landon Poss is coming back and they have very good big men that are over six four and sophomores and very physical
4.North, Anthony Schnabel will lead the team with Brady Syverson and they got a new player Sam Stratton very tall and shoots well behind the arc they have a sophomore named Avery Thompson who played sophomore and JV last year as a freshman he is good begind Schnabel there's a post who is a sophomore Deng Gue he's very physical
5.Wapheton, they will be tough but I think they will barely miss it to state they junior class did well in edc
6.West Fargo, their senior class won't be very good but their junior class is athletic and they will be bringing a sophomore up Nick Eisenzimmer he shoots extremely well behind the arc and when he gets hot he doesn't miss
7.Shanley, without AJ Jacobson and Patrick Strom they aren't very good teams defenses will figure out that they need to deny them all over the court
8.Central, they will be better then last year they have a tall junior that is athletic and can shoot basketball is in his family
9.Valley City, their JV was athletic and did alright their season will be so so
10. Devils Lake, as a team they weren't very well they will need to step their game up if they want to pull any upsets

j west fargo and red river were easily best two teams I was told by a minot parent . Also was told both teams were very young and were missing players for other sports
Also, minot went 2&2 devils lake 0&4 central 1&3 and wf lost a close one to red river went 3&1

Fargo north gets a transfer from MN state champs Perham, Sam Stratton 6-6. Sam played on the Perham state chamionship team. He is originally from Fargo, moved to Perham in the 7th grade and is now back training with the Spartans. Good athlete, great kid. Will make an immediate impact on their program. Has spent the summer with the Spartans.
