Being 5'10'' and able to dunk is not that amazing. Savageau jammed in a game. Sure it is impressive, but not exactly rare.

Thorton can drop step and jam. Kielpinski and Hanstad can 360. I have seen Liggins jam on two defenders at once.

When did you see BHS play?

balla45, BK is 6'8" and he can do a 360, that is rare? It might have looked like Flaten kept Savy in check last night but Savy did only shoot about 7 shots and made like 5 of them.. Flaten is good defender dont get me wrong, but if Savageau had to make a shot late in the game I would take him over flaten 9 out of 10 times.

Savageaus dunking repetoire: 1 hand, 2 hand, self oop, drop step, almost 360, and reverse.

I am well aware of Nik's dunking repetoire. I have witnessed this. I was responding to the person who stated that Flaten's ability to dunk at 5'10'' being something that shows that he is a lock down player. I was using Nik's ability to jam in showing that it isn't exactly rare to be able to dunk. I am 5'11'' and can jam, not like Nik obviously, but I don't think being able to dunk shows anything about a player's defensive ability.

Yes. This is what I was referring to. Being able to dunk does not make one good at defense.

Nick Schultz from what i have seen spends most of his time guarding the opposing teams best scorer, (ex. end of wf game he went out on farkas) he is 6'4'' with a very long build and a very good reaction.

Esley Thorton...last week against Dickinson I saw him lock down Hanstad. Esley played tight, hands-up defense that would definitely give any scorer headaches. Hanstad did get about 20 points but they all came when Liggins or some other player was defending him.

obviously bruce govig is he can guard a guy half his size in this post he is so strong he could easily shut down anyone in the post and on the perimeter.

i would have to agree with schmidty22 about govig. he is strong enough to play in the post but quick enough to play outside if forced to. he has amazing defense in the paint.

Liggins is a good defender don't get me wrong but I saw Klabunde beat him in the WDA first round game.

Yes Bruce Govig all the way

Liggins is a great defender and an amazing athlete, but what happened against Savageau? Not talking anything away from the kid just curious because everyone says he is the best but seemed to have trouble with sav. Ball45 i would appreciate your thoughts

He dribbled up the court and pulled up for jumpers or penetrated. Doesn't involve Liggins.

Nik scored 31 points, I believe 22 in the second half, and 5 of these against the jv team. Many of these points came against starting point guard Jake Miller. It doesn't really involve Liggins.

from what i saw miller was guarding number 20 most of the game...i know for the first half at least miller barely ever guarded him... joliffe started on him then liggins followed... the second half of that game i was really off in lala land because it was so hard to watch
