Steve Miller is just a great coach and he gets the most out of all of his players.

One reason is that there last team (05-06) was so good is that they have been playing together for a long time. Know one thought they would be good this last year because hardly any of them played a lot of Varsity the year before, besides Wilhelm and Sigl. But when you play your whole career with the same bunch of guys the team should be pretty good.

The combination of Miller, Mattern, and Thorton are the reason for being so solid.  At a BHS b-ball practice they work their a** off and make a committment to playing good defense.

How can you say their defense is garbage when they are in your face all the time.  Obviously you don't watch them play.  2nd Steve Miller emphasizes defense and is probaly the best bball coach in the state and 3rd Ryan Dressler didn't come out of nowhere this year.

As long as you do a lot of hard back door cuts very often then you can break down their defense pretty easy.

You better get your facts straight, they only won like 3 games by by 2 or less. and 2 by 5. The rest were a lot more than that. Plus they lost a few by 1 or 2 points. And how can you say that there defense was garbage? They had the smallest team in all of Class A and had to guard guys 6'5" to 6'11", when BHS tallest guy is 6'3". and everyone else is 6' or smaller.

All that I have to say is that after The 05 team from BHS won the State Championship, on the headline of the Fargo Forum it read "Blue Collar Boys". I  think that signifies something about Demon basketball.
