why do you say that? you have to look at the whole picture, some players may have been great on one side of the ball but not the other or they may not have even played both ways. he was great on defense, offense, and speacial teams.

I think if sigl's football team wouldn't have had as much success as they did last year, he wouldnt have won the AAA player of the year.

in any sport, a player won't get MVP, MR basketball or player of the year if his/her team is bad. This is at the high school, college and pro level.

So when A-Rod won the MVP with the Rangers, they must have won the World Series, and not finished in last place.

ok, maybe baseball is a little differnet. but football and basketball if you team doesn't do well your not going to get that award. The team doesn't have to win it all either, they just have to have one of the better teams.

Part of the reason Sigls team had success was because of him.  You can't take anything away from the kid he is an amazing athlete.

he is very athletic, but your team does have to do good in order for u to get the awards at the end of the year

didn't mertins from dl get mr basketball though his team didn't even make state if he got it

and a big reason for BHS's football success was without a doubt Solumsaas probly the fastest football player in the state and BHS didn't have a QB worth crap this year so sigle got the ball 3 or 4 times a game for minimal yardage but he had a couple big ones

jrh22:

Sigl is a fine athlete but, he had a teammate that needs to be mentioned also. Brandon Solumsaas, great tailback, fine baseball pitcher, and excellent track athlete and he could still be a junior.

Solemsaas is a senior. He is all business and a gifted athlete.

I agree Brandon is all "business".

On another note, it looks like "UConn" decided to delete all of his posts and delete his account because he realized people know who he is, and he talked himself up on here. That is sad. Oh well, at least whatever "lucky" college he goes to will have a person who can "absolutely throw down" the rock.:D

Dressler is a solid athlete and he qualified for state even though this is his first year doing long jump and triple jump. His whole family are amazing athletes

I don't think it really matters who I am, but I guess if it does that much, my name is Brian Boyle.

What happened to John Fraase this year.  He was supposed to be so good coming off of an amazing junior year and just didnt perform.  I wasn't impressed at all.  Is he playing in college if so, where?

I haven't heard, but I know he was hampered by an ankle injury for a little while.

Travis Mertens is definetely a big time athlete. He could have played bball or fball anywhere in the state. Josh Lagein is also a great athlete out of DL.

I agree Mertens is amazing.
