Wilhelm and Kick are both very similar.  I would have to say Kick is the better player.

I gotta say Kick is a better player than Wilhelm because he has a better shot and gets to the line more.  He is also a lot taller.  Kick also did better than Wilhelm and had less support from the rest of the team.

Well said Trueplaya- i gotta agree with you on everything you said but i also think that kick can create his own shot and wilhelm has troubles doing that. if kick puts on the pounds over the off season, he's gonna be one tough player to guard.

Wilhelm doesnt have trouble creating his own shot, I have seen him play numerous times.

1.) Wilhelm
2.) Kick
3.) Brian Q. - Not an all-state year, but who knows for next year...

Tate Kick is a very very  good basketball player...but the reason I put Wilhelm first is because Dickinson's offense was run Kick off screens all night...Yeah if your gonna do that then the kid will get his shots. You didnt see BHS running Wilhelm off of 5 screens every possesion. Wilhelm had other guys around him where he didnt NEED to shoot everytime and he still put up very good numbers.

Kick had just as many good players around him as Wilhelm, if not maybe even better.  Well atleast till they lost Fridley.

Jordan Wilhelm, the kid is prodigy.  He has been playing on varsity since a 9th grader.  He had a very good junior season, but watch out for him to light it up this year and win Mr. Basketball baby.  Tate Kick is the 2nd best player in the state, he has the skills but Wilhelm is better.  It'll be fun seeing them play each other.  Also you have to throw in Belohavek, Elgie, and you might as well forget about Quale, he shouldn't have even been all-state and if he is to go D1 like people say he needs to work a lot on his game.

Wilhelm understands the game well, and can create without the ball better, so, I got for Wilhelm over Kick.

coin flip between Kick and Wilhelm IMO.

Some good points made...

Kick is great at getting to the line as stated by truplaya. Not sure that he's that much taller.

On the other hand, Demons is right about the Dickinson offense. They do a lot of stuff designed just for Kick to get shots and good scoring opportunities.

BHS might not do that to such a great extent, but it was clear that Wilhelm was far-and-away their best scorer and they needed him to have big games to beat good teams.

What makes you think that Kick is taller than Wilhelm?

Why would you not run kick off screens all night? The kid is 6'5'' and when he gets the ball underneath he's either going to the line or hes got an easy lay-up. He's got one of the best looking shots in the state, whether its from the free throw line or 3 point line. Wihelm had a lot more help than kick did otherwise bismarck would do the same exact thing.

Why Does everyone hate Brian Qvale so much? Leave the poor kid alone!

Qvale certainly has great potential, people just don't believe he's living up to it.  You can argue that he's not that great, but to be mentioned at all amoung the best players can be viewed as a compliment.  How many hundreds of players will never have their name mentioned in a conversation like this?  Hopefully Brian continues to improve and be the best player/person that he can be.

All I have to say is I wish I was 6'10".  If I was, I would have been doing alot more damage than Qvale has and is.

I think a lot of you probably only saw Quale play a couple of times at most and are basing yor opinions on that. I think he had good games and sometimes didn't play up to expectations too. I heard that he was under the weather for some of the last games he played and that might have been where you got to see him. If you saw the scoreboard at the WHS gym where the cheerleaders kept score of his dunks, it is VERY impressive. He will improve more next year along with his brother.

i agree totally with fritoman.  During regular season qvale did a lot better (especially at home) and he was sick at both wda and state. along with half of the williston team, it was not a good time for them i congratulate how well they did stand up and play even though they were battling sickness.

i saw the scoreboard..what did he finish up with..20 dunks in 25 games? if i was 6'11 i wouldve had 100 dunks in 25 games. that is pathetic. if you are 6'11 and have arms like he does, there is no reason that you should not be getting 3-5 dunks per game. he also is a good athlete so he should be able to get them easily.
