Oh I do not disagree. I just like the absolute ease he can find his shot from anywhere.

But they will have to play like this if they want to beat
Century or SM.

I have no idea what the scouting report was. I would imagine with Kozlowski you would want to prevent him getting to the rack and make him hit threes. He happened to make them last night though. Once a player with talent becomes highly confident, they become very good. A lot of talent in this 2014 class.

Tanner Kretchman is unbelievable.... 76 points in 2 games so far. I wouldn't be surprised if he sets the record for most points in a state tourney. Current record is 113. His shot is so pure and he ability to pass is amazing as well.. Definitely deserves Mr. Basketball..

If you like defense...you won't like tomorrow's Title game!! Should be a high scoring affair between Davies & St. Mary's

I know you posted this after the first round, but their role players did plenty tonight. Everyone was burying 3s, especially in the 2nd half.

Although Fargo Shanley is out of the State Tourney after their loss to Wahpeton in the consolation round yesterday, kudos to Coach Alderman and his players for the way they finished the season. After a 16-point loss to Devils Lake on Jan 30, Shanley looked like a team headed for the EDC play-in game rather than the State Tourney. But seems they did not give up ... Convincing wins in the EDC Tourney against GF Red River and West Fargo shocked a lot of folks. But they did not just settle for that - the defending state champs gave a heavily-favored Century team a real battle in the first round of State. Great job, Deacs.

Kudos also to Fargo South. Great win over Bismarck High. Colton Lloyd - you are a player. And no disgrace losing to Fargo Davies - Kretchman is almost unguardable at this level and the rest of the Davies players, most notably Kozlowski, are not to shabby, either.

What a fun final - Davies vs. St. Mary's. The teams will probably combine for about 170 points.

Does anyone know why they've been doing the National Anthem after the starting lineups at the state tournaments? Don't they do it the opposite way around in most other games?

yes...but that's the way State Tourneys have been done for past couple of years. It absolutely kills the atmosphere after the lineups!

I have no idea where else to post this, but just in case the people I'm posting about read this forum, I'll post it here: Big props to whoever runs the video production for the state tournament. It's a great feed, the crew does a stellar job, the on-screen stats and info are helpful, and it's extra impressive that it's all free to live stream.

Like I said, no idea where else to post my appreciation, so if anyone who is part of that crew reads this forum, thank you (and please tell your co-workers). Also, if you read this forum and know anyone who is involved in the production, please pass the word along and tell them thanks from an Augustana fan in Sioux Falls.

Looking forward to a good game tonight. With Ben Weisbeck coming to Augie and Kretchmann going to Moorhead, it'll be fun to watch them to compete against each other for a few years in college.

lol @ only giving Kretchman 1 and 1 when it should have been 2 shots. Then to figure it out, but you don't put 7 seconds back on the clock that ran off. These are supposed to be the best officials in the state and they blow that how many times? I don't think you can go back and give him the 2nd free throw.

If the officials catch their mistake I believe they did things correctly EXCEPT forgetting to put time back on clock!

My statement was the fact that they caught it quickly after it occurred that they can fix their mistake. ..such as less than 10 seconds later. other than that I'm sure its not fixable

It's correctable until after the next dead ball

Do you have a reference?

What if it takes 5 minutes of game time and 20 points are scored before they realize it?

I'm not looking it up for u. U can do that yourself. There are only certain errors that are correctable and free throws in one. If 5 min go off and points are scored it all stays the same. You just go back, shoot the free throw and go from point of interruption. They don't take points off or put time back on the clock.

go maji wrote:I guess Davies offense is give it to Kretchman and Kozlowski and tell everyone to get out of the way. Neither could miss. Kretchman scored 16 over is season average, and Kozlowski scored 8 overhis season average. those were their only two in double figures. If they would have been closer to there season averages, this would be a much different game.

Lund was on Kretchman many times, and he got beat off the dribble EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Was I watching a different game than you? I saw Lund almost exclusively on Kozlowski.

Also, what did work well against Kretchman? He reminds me of Jordan May in so many ways. If you remember the 2008 state tournament, he had 32 in the second half and Dickinson started sending the double at half court.

what ever happened to may? i know he went to und but didn't play. did he go to a smaller college and play?
