He is about 6'4" and is pretty athletic. Again, Minot has a lot of depth with their upperclassmen.

True, but with the exception of Van Dusen and Hustad, they're a pretty small team as it is.

Do you know if Dylan Adams will be out for basketball this year.

Lund, Crosby, and Noah Bosch will have a hard time breaking into varsity this year at Minot. They may get a far amount of JV time but I don't see Varsity time for them, too much depth to break thru.

This is true but, who do they cut to make room. This is one of those hard questions until the year starts. It will be interesting tho

Minot has pretty good depth and a number of upperclassmen, not necessarily a lot of height but should be adequate with Van Dusen and Hustad. Also Jechort and Klein (if he makes varsity) are very athletic who can jump so they can cover lanky height on the perimeter and wings. As far as the 3 underclassmen with height, mentioned in previous posts, Bosh likely will make varsity, but his playing time will come on jv. Crosby not as good a chance making varsity, but will see time on both soph. A and jv. Lund possibly could be moved up to soph. A and maybe some jv. All 3 though definitely should help Minot in the following couple of years. Just my thoughts.

nick1016 wrote:Regarding Jacobson and Strom for Shanley......they are not only excellent on the court, but pretty much straight A students from what I hear. Athletic, intelligent and disciplined. I think Shanley is going to be awfully tough next year with these two and a strong supporting cast.

Dont forget about Dylan Alderman, he was a key contributor to Shanley's run to the state championship team. He has excellent court vision and can score the ball. He just doesnt get as much recognition because he is behind two of the best players in the conference and state (Jacobson and Strom)

From what I'm see for state this coming year is gonna be the best state playoff in a long time. The top 4 in each conference I could see winning it. Best wishes to all the teams this year. It's gonna be a great season. :D

Minots roster is already filled with returning seniors. Most of the underclassmen mentioned will see either JV or sophomore playing time.

Just was asked who I feel are the top 5 Class A players in order. I hope this can create some interesting dialogue.

Here is my list. This is not who I feel will receive the 5 first team all state awards either.

AJ Jacobson.
Mac Kroeplin.
Ben Weisbeck.
Erron Collins.
Tanner Kretchman.

How can you throw a kid in the top 5 that hasn't played varsity in class A? NO doubt he is a good player but I'd personally take his teammate Kozlowski or Nate Mertens over Tanner.

Just a personal opinion. It was between him and Kozlowski for that last spot. I just personally am a big fan of his style of play. Very heady player with a smooth stroke.

It'll be interesting to see how Kretchman does is Class A varsity this year, with the addition of David Olson davies will be pretty good, they have to be in contention for the top spot but i still think Shanley has the upper hand with Anthony Jacobson being the best player in the state and nearly unguardable.

It will be interesting. Both teams have three pretty dynamic offensive players.

Just as long ias ndividuals put aside individual stats for the team stats they will go far. Seen this last year with GFRR & Shanley. You had the main players but the team was the main stay for them.

Will be a great year to watch ND Basketball this year. Best wishes to all teams!

could someone post how the hoopster has ranked the teams?

Also, I may get to Fargo one of these days--where can I buy the Hoopster? Do the major bookstores carry it?

Davies won't as good as they are projected. Kozlowski is always throwing stupid shots up, Kretchman is very one dimensional offensively and I find it hard to see any shots left over Olson. It's hard to see them mesh together.
