Don't get too overhyped on Bismarck High next year. This year, they were alot worse when Werner was on the bench.

I am not overhyped. They will likely be the best defensive team in the WDA. It will not be easy to score on Seibel, Schafer, Jolliffe, Unruh, Werner, Clairmont, etc. They will have a roster full of athletic kids that are all in that long 6'2" body type. Other than Minot, Saint Mary's, and Bismarck, no team returns more than one major scoring threat.

They'll be fine offensively. Schafer can shoot probably better than anyone in the state, Iron Eyes is very good at getting to the hoop, and Werner is a solid player as well.

Just spitballin here - have no idea of the plans of Mr. Olson and his family - but I would guess with his new job starting next year in Fargo, they would be remiss if David wasn't playing at Shanley next year with Jacobsen. ANy thoughts? Has anyone heard anything. I know nothing about Shanley next year except Jacobson. Would the addition of Olson make them untouchable? No idea - just wondering what others thought that have much more knowledge on Class A ball than I do.

I've heard varying things.

I've heard that David Olson was quoted as saying that he won't leave Central. I've also heard Fargo Davies. Both sources are second hand, so I am not sure how much credibility they have.

That's what the Bismarck public schools need to do when it is time for their next AD, to go outside the box. BHS has always been spoon fed and CHS never gets the benefits. CHs has always been considered the "other school".And no I am not a CHS fan.

Yes Pat Strom was a very good contributor...will have a big role this next season.

Regarding Jacobson and Strom for Shanley......they are not only excellent on the court, but pretty much straight A students from what I hear. Athletic, intelligent and disciplined. I think Shanley is going to be awfully tough next year with these two and a strong supporting cast.

I find it rather difficult to project a starting line up for any team. Random kids show up for try outs much improved. It's all about who works hard and earns the spot.

Does any body think Crosby from Minot will be on Varsity this year?

Will be interesting to see how their line ups shake out. Have to imagine we see a lot of minutes going to their many returning players with Van Dusen, Gerding, Frank, Albertson, Bloms, Hustad, and Larson all coming back.

Larson will very likely not be back for the season because of his football injury. Dylan Jechort is another returner.

I heard there is a 6'6 (I may be off on the height) kid named Braden Lund who is a freshmen at Minot High. He is very good, but the chances that he gets moved up to varsity are slim to none.
