NDHSAA ‏@NDHSAA 45m
The NDHSAA Board of Directors has approved the 3 foot block/charge arc for Class A Basketball beginning in 2014-15.

My guess is ND is the first one. ND isn't afraid of change when it comes to stuff like this: shot clock/18 minute halves.

This will change the look of the game. I see alot more blocking fouls being called.

I don't like this change for hs bb. Sometimes I think we go overboard trying to make the hs game look like college or pros. I see no need for this at the hs level.

I see this as a complete waste of paint. There is no call for this in ND high school basketball. We don't have athletes leaving the court 8-12 feet from the hoop.

Even though I don't know what you mean by "leaving the court", this is a necessary change. Past years, players would plant themselves around the paint looking to step in front of a ball handler. This will make teams play more defense.

Our kids are becoming a lot more athletic. I think that the defense too often gets bailed out by officials that call a charging foul even when the help defender is way underneath the hoop. d_fense we do have some athletes that can "leave the court" from 8 feet and get to the hoop, that is only in the middle of the lane.
