2009 F150- 320 horsepower and 390 lb. per ft. ot torque
2009 dodge ram 1500-390 horsepower and 407 lb. per ft. of torque
2009 chevy crap - 315 horsepower and 338 lb. per ft of torque

i still take ford because it can tow ALOT more than dodge and chevy and has a higher payload capacity, and also gets more horsepower at lower rpms than dodge, and it also has an electronic locking differential, making nearly impossible to get stuck and it gives it the best traction of all trucks, FORD is the way to go

With that said I'm curious to see what Ford is going to do with the engine choices coming soon. I've heard that they are going to use an EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6 and also heard they will not (I wouldn't be in favor of it I just hate the thought of a V-6 in a pickup). I've also heard about the new Boss engine might also be put on hold. I'd have to go for the Chevy because of the Vortec. Better acceleration and just seems to have more power.

the vortec may seem to have more power but in reality it is behind the 2009 f150, only slightly( 5 or so horsepower) and ford also has a higher torque rating so you can be positive that with the horses the f150 gives out you can do some serious towing, but you also have the speed and torque to do some nasty burnouts

The only thing I really have against the '09 F150 is that the exterior looks like a Toyota Tundra somewhat (and I absolutely hate foreign vehicles and will never own one), however the interior (sat in one at the State Fair) is very nice.

couldn't agree with you more about foreign vehicles, and expecially foreign trucks. if there is one thing that is best when it is made in america, it is trucks. when you sat in it did they let anyone drive it or start it, or was it just on display to look at

No one could drive it it was just there to look at and sit in. I believe it was a dealer from Minot that had it on display along with a 2008 Super Duty, an Edge, a Mustang, and I think maybe a Fusion. One thing I did like was the color which is a REAL white not the ivory color shade that is so common today. Another nice feature of it was the tailgate step. As for the power I haven't rode in any newer F150s just based my assumptions off Youtube videos and what I've read in magazines such as Motor Trend and etc. I know these are both quite old and not a very good example but I've road in a 1998 F150 with a 4.6L Triton and a 1990 F150 with the 5.4 Triton and well at lower RPM's the 5.4 seemed lagging with power where as the 4.6L had more get up and go with more lower end torque (yes I know these vehicles are now 10 years old but this is the best comparison I can make if I'd have the resources I would test newer ones). It seemed like the 5.4 would pull but idk how well. One of my buddies has a 1999 Silverado with the 5.3 Vortec and well basically it seemed that the Chev would walk all over the F150 it just seemed to have more power all around. Again these are 10 year old vehicles and I know times have changed and things have gotten better/more powerful etc. I've been in a 2007 GMC with the 5.3 Vortec and that seemed to have alot of power so I'd like to get myself into a 2007 F150 and make the comparison. I would almost bet if you raced them the GMC would come out on top but as far as the pulling test idk.
