Tecmo Super Bowl for the original Nintendo.    I was almost unbeatable back in the day.

One of my roommates and myself have had at least 5 full blown screaming fights with eachother over Tecmo Super Bowl. We quiz eachother on rosters and stuff like that and it always escalates out of control!

Top 5 teams:
5) LA Raiders (Bo Knows and Howie Long is unstoppable on defense. Good recievers too Tim Brown and Willie Gault)
4) KC Chiefs (The Nigerian Nightrain is a stud! Derrick Thomas is ALL that you need on defense... but you also have Piercy Snow. Not a great passing game but not horrible)
3) SF 49ers (unstoppable offense and a stellar defense. weak spot is the running game but it can get the job done)
2) NY Giants (Simms to Bavarro for a TD or Anderson or Megget running the ball. Pepper Johnson could be the best LB on any other team in the game but is only #2 on his team behind the greatest defensive player EVER...LT)

The #1 Greatest Team on Tecmo Super Bowl:

Buffalo Bills-

Kelly QB
Thurman and Davis as the RB's
Reed and Lofton WR's

AMAZING OFFENSE!!!

Bruce Smith tears through every offense and just shuts teams down by himself!

I used to love the packers defense, the noseguard could shoot the gap and dive at the QB for a sack almost every time.

Oilers offense, Moon and 3 good receivers.

One thing about that game was it was virtually impossible to play a season against the computer and go undefeated.  The last game the computer would be in some super speed mode and it would be ridiculous the stuff that would happen.

Does anyone have MVP NCAA Baseball 06? If not I recommend getting it.  First ever college baseball game and it is pretty fun.  The new load and fire hitting takes a little while to get used but once mastered you can be good.

Yeah I have it.  It's pretty sweet, I play it online quite a bit.

I agree with Tecmo Superbowl and now I would go with any Madden.

WOW, how can no one even mention madden.  Madden is the single greatest game of all time, which would obviously make it the greatest sports game ever.  Since super nintendo it had dominated the sports gaming world and continues to be a must for anyone who is anyone. MIKE VICK YALL

I agree, I really like Madden although I like NHL 2004 too.

I've been pretty much addicted to March Madness '06... and i'm a wrestler! so it has to be a good game.

Can MarioKart be considered sports? it is racing.... either way it has to be one of the top video games ever!

big_thyme, I'd have to go with NHL 03. It changed too much after that version. But I do long for the NHLPA 93 days on Sega and Super. Classic!

Props to Madden indeed.

Does Excite Bike count? Man I loved that game.

Those EA NCAA college football games are a hoot.  I can't wait until my favorite team is on there.

I totally second that motion. NCAA College Football is a great product and has been since it's inception!

My question (from what I understand) is that NDSU is on the Basketball game but not the football game? What up with that?

Just a thought on why NDSU wasn't on the college football game is probaly because they only have a certain amount and football games have bout 60 on the roster whereas bball only has bout 20.  That would be my guess is on the memory maybe>?

I believe that the reason NDSU wasn't on the NCAA FB game has to do with their opponents. How many of them were on the game? becuase they didn't play big time schools so maybe they didn't want to spend the effort...

Actually I think it has more to do with conference affiliation, and since the Great West Football Conference is relatively new and some of the members are still in a transitional status that the priority of putting them into a game that already has dozens of teams was not very high yet.  Look for them to be in the next edition of NCAA College Football, that would be my guess.
