its too early...not too many games played to get an idea. WF would have to be #1 though.

well from the SE region area it would be:

1. West Fargo
2. Fargo Shanley
3. Valley City

I haven't seen enough of the rest of the state yet because of conditions...maybe these three are the top 3 right now...who really knows until early May.

valley city #3? Bismarck century I think should have a decent team, Ryan will be alright again. Valley city has gotten better but even in that 5-1 loss to WF they only had like 3 hits or something. From what I saw WF didnt play their best that game, then killed enderlin 17-0. Enderlin and VC played to a 3-3 tie before it got called due to light.

AGAIN...I stated that I haven't seen too many games yet because there haven't been many played...I guess I might have overlooked another team from the SE region (Fargo North).

After the first week of May we should have a better understanding of what teams are the top teams

The West teams could be strong. Century has a pretty deep pitching/catching squad but they haven't even played a game yet. My early guesses are West Fargo, Century, and Dickinson as the top teams.

The west could be decent, I would like to see Ryan and Century play to see how century really is after the split from one team last year. The Northeast isn't looking to strong this year. Shanley dropped central 22-3, and Red river barely came back to beat central so i think the Northeast is out of the talk. My top 3 right now would have to be:

1. West Fargo
2. Minot Ryan
3. Shanley, with Century close behind.

Ryan is extremely young. I'd have them at 4th in the state at best. 1 senior and 1 junior. A couple sophmores and a whole lot of freshmen and 8th graders. They're talented but so young.

Anyone else have their top 3? Also I really think the east should be one region. I don't believe that the top northeast team would finish in the top 4 in the southeast this year, yet they will still send a team to state...

Ryan is very young, but I think they have a new pitcher in that group who could help. I would put Century right up there w/ West Fargo at the beginning of the season.

Just looked at west fargo's schedule. Century is playing WF in WF on april 30th. Should be a good game to determine how everyone in the state will compare to each other.

They do have a new pitcher. She moved her from Oregon because her dad got the MSU men's basketball job. She is very good, but she's only an 8th grader. She'll probably be their starter since out of their two pitchers from last year, one graduated and the other has a torn ACL.

Hopefully, next week the West teams will have a busy week to get started. Bismarck starts a talented 8th grader also, and will face Ryan on Thursday.

I would still put Century up in the top 3, if not top 2.

i dont know about that. Century lost to bismarck high and needed late late comebacks to beat dickinson.

1. West Fargo
2. Shanley
3. North

Shanley and North are pretty interchangable for the 2nd spot.

North isnt bad this year, but i was at the north vs shanley game last night to check them both out, and shanley played well below what they should have for 4 or 5 innings. The last two innigs they picked it up and blew north away. If they would have hit the whole game like that it would have been done in 5 innings. North Struggled to beat enderlin this season. as a neutral fan, seeing all the fargo teams play now i really believe that WF is definately on top, then shanley, then i think there is a gap with north/south/valley city being interchangeable. North is definately not one of the top 3 or even 5 in the state this year.

After watching last night's 13-6 win for Shanley over North...I don't think they are interchangable

Agreed.
