I am still continually baffled by the Class B girls rankings. Palmer (15:33) destroys Kraft (15:45) and Yankton (16:01) at the Larimore's Inviational and Alyssa Anderson has run a 14:46 earlier this year (which is the 2nd best time in the STATE behind Minot's Brecca Wahlund) and she isn't #1. Its shocking!!

I don't think Alyssa Anderson has ran in many races this year. That could be hurting her ranking. I'm sure she'll have a good showing at the state meet.

The thing is you don't have to run in many races to get noticed. When she's run she has run remarkable times! Anything from her 14:46 to her low 15:00 times. Those are faster than any of the Class B girls this year (by ALOT). She'd be ranked in Class A if she ran those times but didn't run in as many races as the other girls!!

Also Liljenquist from Griggs Cty Central is done for the year with a broken foot and she still keeps making the polls. I wonder if coaches even look at results when they vote?!?!

I'm not trying to be argumentative because I agree with your logic but...

You are admittedly baffled by how low Anderson is even though she hasn't run many races but how high Liljenquest because she hasn't run many races. The point is that unless you go back nearly a month and compile all the results, you can't come up with a realistic ranking. Most coaches use last week's poll along with the new meet results to make changes. If Anderson was #4 last week and did nothing good/bad this week, they find no reason to move her.

I have voted Anderson #1 (by a wide distance) since her Cooperstown performance three weeks ago. But, I admit that I voted for Liljenquist this last week because I had not heard about the unfortunate injury. I just assumed illness or short-term injury like most others probably did.
