BHS Top 10

If you were gonna combine the last 5 bismarck state championship teams who would you put in your top 10 to run an entire season with. Criteria: Look at entire career/season, don't look at track times

My 10 would look someting like this
1.Joash Osoro
2.Devin Huizenga
3.Christain Brown-Otter
4.Ian Weist
5.Andrew Riechenberger
6.Jake Martel
7.Josh Nuss
8.Tom Wagner
9.Eric Stroh
10.Josh Hintz/Lane Kashur

if we're looking at entire career it would be hard to be wiest up because he just moved here and for that i would be andrew Riechenberger above him

i wouldn't even put wiest in the top ten because he ran with bismarck for half the season.

he missed the Dickinson Meet and got 4th place at the Griak and if not for a slip in the mud would have challenged for the Championship.... it is hard to pit those who left, with those who remain course length and competition comes into play.... Be very careful evaluating someone until they finish there career, injuries, peaking come into play quite often...

True, wiest did only run half a season but he was still a member of a state championship team so i put him on there. And ya it is very tough to compare runners from different years because of everything you mentioned, i just thought it might be fun to try and make a list. And theres only 1 kid on their who hasn't finished his career haha. But i still think if you were gonna make a top 10 right now, he would have to be in the consideration. Lets see some other top 10's

after one year of running bhs xc, your giving away 10 to Lane Kashur? Mitch Becker or Sage Koch should be tenth instead of Hintz/Kashur

Ya i didnt know much about Koch or Becker and by lookin at times it just sempt like Hintz was probably a little better so i put him there. Obviously people from recent classes will be more biased toward current runners. I dont thnk anybodys 1-3 could be different but depending on the meet 4-10 could be about anyones game. Lookin at some past results i came up with this:

Nuss and Wagner-both pretty consistent, usually in top 10 in meet
Reichenberger- good wda/state finishes, consistently in front group
Martel- could be 4 or 14- some amazing races, some horrible-usally ahead of reichenberg, wagner, stroh?
Stoh-not good through year really but really good at state
Hintz- consistent for 1 year, good state meet
Weist-great season, not much to go off of

Im gonna say my 4-10 would haveta depend on the meet

I wish you all could have seen the season that should have been for Andrew. I'm telling you, as a senior he was poised for a championship run at Sam Larson had he not had an accident that stunted his season.

Dude was on a mission.

I think it is a pretty well-known fact that state was a little short. No offense to the runners but i would add about 15 seconds to each time.

He was a solid contender all year for the state title and ran sub-16:00 with no previous training.. i would give him top 5 all-time

The course was not as short as you may think...its because the course was mostly flat...I mean really you only have one hill on the whole Valley City course and its right at the beginning and you don't even notice it. If I remember correctly from when we measured the course last year, it was 4,980 meters long...so it was only short 20 meters...that's barely any time

King Joash Osoro :D only ran 15:18 with the best runners in the nation at Nike Nationals in 2008. So they were only 17 seconds slower than that with MUCH less competition?

I'm sure the National course was MUCH more challenging...with hills and hay bales and other things...it wasn't flat like the VC course...I'm just saying the course wasn't short by distance (not as short as you are implying)
