I think XCcoach has a good point.
Plus, if you remember back when Waha did run cross country (back when Mach was their star), Waha CHOKED. He was one of the EDC's fastest runners, and he did horribly at state. Plus, I think he underachieved at state track. You can't tell what this kid will do when the pressure gets put on.

Didn't he almost win the 800?? Quite the finish...Don't count him out! It was only a prediction...there are a lot of variables still out there.

Give it some time...it usually takes the first week before the poll comes out. It will be out before next Friday for sure...

From the west I would say Jake LEIGANG. Though his rain of terror is going to fall short this coming state meet with the big target painted on his back from last year.

OH yes, this is all correct. ahahahahaha

Sorry, but no. Mendee is definetly good, but leingang is just going to be too fast.

I think that we have to see Leingang race before we can jump to any conclusions. As far as I know, Mendee has the fastest time in the state right now (unless there was another meet this weekend; if there was, results?)..........but I still think Leingang has this season on a strangle-hold.

Only race has been the "Orr"iginals meet in Jamestown...Bismarck and Williston will have their first meet on August 28th

Before you guys dismiss Francis like he has no chance, just keep in mind he ran a 17:03 with only nine days of running since track season, he wasn't able to run at all this summer because he was working with his brother in Fargo. I would honestly say he has the most natural talent out of any of the runners in the state since his daily mileage is at about three miles a day at a pretty relaxed pace. If he decides to put in any work at all this cross country season you can most likely expect him to hit some really fast times.

No one is dismissing him, he is a solid runner, but leingang has as much natural talent if not more than Francis and he also trained all summer which gives him a huge advantage.

I respect your opinions but mine still hasn't changed. Not like the predictions are very accurate all the time on this forum anyway. Think, Leingang came out of nowhere last year like he had taken drugs (not an accusation by any means, just my way of emphasizing the improvement.). Seriously go look at his improvement. If anyone else in the state can replicate that, it's Mendee.

If I seem to remember correctly he ran a 16:37 last year, so you thinking he will run around 16:50 is absolutely retarded... I can't believe someone could think of something as stupid as that. Also the fact that he opened the year with a 17:03 makes me think he should be able to improve a little bit more then 13 seconds over the span of 2 months.

Yeah I guess you are right about him racing up with Leingang by the state meet, now that I think about it Leingang is just too good for anyone in the state to beat right now. But I still I think Francis has the talent to be one of the leading runners in the state this year.
