Nope these were the official Pre-Season Poll picks made by the coaches

So xc which is a very small sport in ND has a preseason poll, but football which is probably the 2nd biggest sport in ND has no preseason poll? Makes no sense. I'm not positive, but I don't think BB has a preseason poll either.

There's a difference between the three sports that you mention...

Basketball and Football are voted on by the Sportscasters across the State. (Coaches send in pre-season rankings for regions to the two magazines that cover each sport: Hoopster - BB; Pigskin Preview - FB)
Cross Country is voted on by the XC Coaches across the State.
and just to make a statement...no one seems to care about Volleyball since they aren't ranked by coaches or sportscasters

one of the coaches does the tabulations for all the coaches...Its just a strict Coaches Poll (Class A votes on Class A teams/runners; Class B votes on Class B teams/runners)
